Corusca Gem stats?

By The Grand Falloon, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Are there stats anywhere for a Corusca Gem? I was going to send my Force and Destiny players into The Jewel of Yavin (heavily modified). They're trying to establish a remote Jedi training ground, and they have a mentor and a number of younglings. I think with the Jewel, one of a Padawan's tests would be finding a shatterpoint in order to break off a piece for a lightsaber crystal.

I've read the Wookieepedia entry on the gem. It's apparently very hard and can make a rather powerful saber. But I don't recall seeing game stats for it. Do they exist? If not, how would you stat it?

I've not seen anything, but going by Saga Edition's take, a lightsaber using said gem would probably focus on increasing it's Breach rating. So you could probably use any one of the existing crystals that can reach Breach 2 or higher and just call it a Corusca Gem.

The only thing I know about Corusca Gems is that they're insanely valuable. If you decide to stat your own, make sure that it's sufficiently tempting for your PCs to trade for cash as well as to use in a lightsaber. It could make for some interesting narrative if the party is particularly strapped for cash.

When one of my players got the Corusca Gem in Jewel of Yavin and wanted to use it in a lightsaber, instead of giving it stats to offset the higher cost of the gem if they had sold it, I just ruled that the gem gave a free upgrade to all checks to mod the gem for a lightsaber. That way it could be used to make a really powerful lightsaber but it wasn't guaranteed. We used the basic Ilum crystal profile and went from there. The player was able to get all the mods on the crystal they wanted so they felt like it was a fair deal for not selling it.

Try a christophsis crystal (in collapse of the republic)

I've had the same concern for years. Literally the first thing I look for in every new book is a Corusca gem. Since I'm starting to think it'll never come, I think I'll just use the stat block for the Zophis Crystal from Rise of the Separatists. To reflect its usefulness (and rarity), I'd remove that crystal's situational shortcoming and multiply its price by at least 10.

According to Legends, a good Corusca gem that can fit inside a lightsaber is valuable enough to buy a Coruscant city block, but that's an awful lot of credits for a party to have at once. I don't think I'm ready for them to hire Boba Fett on long-term contract to escort them through hostile territory.
