The word detonate is used

Is this the same as the ability Detonate?

Reason I ask, there is a grey/inconsistent area on bombing run and needing line of sight to bomb to be affected by an explosion

It refers to the keyword "detonate (RRG P35). The weapon on the battle card has a yellow range symbol making it an area weapon that is used against all elligible targets -> being in range and have LOS to the bomb.

It it were referencing the ability (or weapon keyword), then it would have a value for Detonate and indicate the weapon that could be detonated.

I have seen people hide a saboteur so it can not see the bomb

They detonate but claim that only one the saboteurs will be effected because the other can't see. Same logic as a shooting attack. Can be seen, cant be killed:-?

It IS a shooting attack.

Quoted from page 35:

"Each attack made when a charge or condition token detonates is a ranged attack."

And page 36 regarding LoS:

"To determine line of sight from a charge or condition token to a unit, determine line of sight from the unit to the token instead. If any minis in the unit have line of sight to the
token, then the token has line of sight to that unit and to those minis."

Since it is a ranged attack, all rules regarding ranged attacks apply, including needing line of sight to a model to inflict a wound on said model.
