Rieekan’s Rick Roller

By Herr Style, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

On my next outing, decided on Rieekan, as needed someone to help me out as I seem to always be going second, and don’t quite have the experience of getting the enemy to drift into my killing arcs. So, Rieekans Road Roller:-

Commander: General Rieekan

Assault: Advanced Gunnery

Defense: Fighter Ambush

Navigation: Superior Positions

MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)

• General Rieekan (30)

• Strategic Adviser (4)

• Ordnance Experts (4)

• Electronic Countermeasures (7)

• Expanded Launchers (13)

• Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)

• Aspiration (3)

= 166 Points

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57)

• Heavy Fire Zone (4)

• Yavaris (5)

= 66 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)

• Comms Net (2)

= 20 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)

• Comms Net (2)

= 20 Points

Squadrons:

• Corran Horn (22)

• Shara Bey (17)

• Tycho Celchu (16)

• Norra Wexley (17)

• 3 x Y-wing Squadron (30)

• 2 x X-wing Squadron (26)

= 128 Points

Total Points: 400

Options: - Thinking of swapping Exp Launchers for Ex Racks to get Leia on a GR75 and Hardened Bulkheads.

My plan with the squadrons is to send in Shara and Tycho first with Corran joining them on a token or as a Rogue. Then, the same with two pairs of Y wings with an X Wing each either as a token too, or just to move up with the Squadron move to provide cover from enemy fighters. Then try to soften up the target, and the MC75 to go squash it flat. Not sure if Corran is a wise choice, would Shara and Tycho be able to wither a fighter blob for a couple of turns on their own? If so could get in BCC or Toryn as well.

Any thoughts on my objectives too?

It’s never gonna let me cry.

With Leia and hardened bulk heads as well?

That many Y-wings with Nora... My vote is use the points for a BCC (6 point swap compared to comms net) and then get a Boosted Comms on something, mostly to allow you to recall Shara, Tycho and Corran from a far flung position back into the fight.

TLDR swap Expended Launchers for Ex. Racks, BCC (in place of a Comms Net) and pick up a Boosted Comms somewhere.

Would consider swapping Aspiration Title for a Flight Commander on Yavaris,

I’ve never used it, but I suspect that Heavy Fire Zone is a pretty bad card. Drop it, get a Bomber Command Center on one of those Transports.

You may also consider smushing the two X-Wings together and turning them into the Falcon or something. You have a lot of non-Rogue fighters, and not a lot of squadron command value. This gives you more wiggle room on that front, and works better with Rieekan’s ability.
