Maybe it's impossible for me NOT to give it. Maybe hanging me today is the only way to eliminate the fruit, the final threat to town's existence.

But Pod also said this wasn't a bastard game, and seemed to imply that he wasn't holding back info about the fruit from ovi, correct? And ovi was certain the fruit doesn't kill. I'll have to reread.

Anyway, last night was strange for another reason. Pod started by telling me I had some good tracking vibes this time (not an exact quote), then I tried to track LP, then Pod told me the track was unsuccessful (womp womp) and that I was roleblocked. I haven't been informed specifically of being roleblocked before. I asked Pod why the fruit didn't protect me from being roleblocked (ovi seemed to imply it would), and he said not all roleblocks are the same (not an exact quote).

My other thought was that GNIP or Madaghmire could be a scum bus driver, and switched himself with Gink...I am too tired to think about how this would work now but I'll try to think about it when I wake up. There's probably a flaw somewhere.

D1, Ovi has the fruit. N1, he gives it to Gink. Bertie tracks Gink, but it fails.

Jabba's theory doesn't really make sense, because ovi had the fruit first. And actually, Gink never had the fruit at all, because of the bus drive (otherwise it would have died in his hands). Probably Gink died because he's a solid player, and ovi died because he was already more or less confirmed town.

At this point I'm wondering if GNIP is really telling the truth though (ovi thought some part of his story didn't make sense). Perhaps he really gave it to Mads N2 and lied about it--which would explain why my tracking on Mads failed. Perhaps the fruit doesn't only make someone immune from night actions, but also ensures that they can't perform a night action. I don't think ovi mentioned this but it would make sense, given that it's a disgusting piece of fruit that we don't want. Which would explain why my tracking failed last night, this time receiving the message that I was roleblocked (the fruit itself is the roleblocker). And if the fruit roleblocks, GNIP could have been prevented from making a kill N1.

The question remains though, why would GNIP tell us about the fruit at all, claiming that he may have accidentally killed Gink? Seems like an unusual way to draw attention to yourself as scum. If he knew the fruit roleblocked, and he knew no one died N1, surely he'd know the reason was because he had the fruit.

Why are you asking me to comment on a theory of my scumminess? As I told you, I got the fruit N1 and passed it to Gink night 2. I had no idea what it was, since I was only told that it was sticky and that I wanted to get rid of it ASAP. Since I didn't trust it, and I didn't trust Gink, I gave it to him.

I do believe Ovi - I'm not believing Pod. (This game was created to troll a troll, and everyone has flipped vanilla town other than said troll)

but take my "wisdom" on the setup with a huge chunk of salt.

I never get the setup. I've never run the game.

Ovi could write three pages about that during any game, and my eyes will glaze over. (At least I think he's forgiven me for that loss that we don't speak about anymore 🙂 )

I haven't seen any reason to unvote him, and his coming up with no results 3 nights in a row (and now trying to use the fruit as a self-blocker) is very suspicious.

I'm going to ##vote @GhostofNobodyInParticular because my hypothesis (if true) would suggest that GNIP tried to perform the NK on N1 and was blocked by the fruit.

So you believe that I got it despite ovi saying otherwise, but don't believe the rest of my story? Why would I have said I had it if it had affected my scum actions? At the time, nobody had mentioned its existence. Had I remained silent, no attention would have been drawn to me, ovi wouldn't have spoken up and cast doubt on my story, and you wouldn't be voting me right now.

My mentioning the fruit only makes sense if you accept that everything I have said is true.

That's the very thing that's puzzling me. It would be a mistake for you to mention the fruit if you were scum. (Although when I play scum sometimes I'll say something that's partially true to try to seem credible.)

But with getting no tracker results three times, it's my only lead, and I'd just be going with who seems "most scummy" (which is dubious at best).
