Star Wars The Old Republic: Dominance of the Eternal Empire (a PBP campaign recruitment)

By Von3679, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

It has been 2 years since the Eternal Empire, led by their Emperor Arkann conquered the galaxy.. Under his tyrannical rule, both the Republic and the Sith Empire have fallen into disrepair. The heavy tributes placed on both sides have caused the economic collapse of both organisations, leaving their worlds in disarray and chaos. Their military might has also been crushed, leaving both the Republic and the Sith Empire defenceless from the Skytroopers that now occupy every world under the new empire. While the citizens of the Eternal Empire prosper on the planet of Zakuul, the rest of the citizens of the galaxy are left to fend for themselves in this harsh new environment, left to rot by the new ruler of the galaxy.

Seeking answers to why Emperor Arkann was amassing his resources, Lana Beniko, the former Sith Intelligence Minister, journeyed to find the true meaning behind the tributes given to the Eternal Empire.

Finally, after another 2 years, the former Sith Intelligence Minister resurfaced, shaken and desperate as she sent out a plea to the former members of the Yavin Coalition, begging for the members to meet once again on the Outer Rim world of Zeffo to reveal the dark secret that she discovered....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rebels set in the Old Republic era instead of the Original trilogy, with basically any type of warrior. Sith, jedi, bounty hunter, republic soldier, sith soldier blah blah...
But onto the serious stuff.
Welcome to this campaign! Set in the years of the Old Republic, this campaign is about people from both sides, Republic and Sith Empire grouping together to face the Eternal Empire which has conquered the galaxy. Thus, in order to destroy the tyrannical Eternal Empire, Lana Beniko is calling on her former allies to oppose this menace.
Players will work together regardless of faction, going on missions across the galaxy to free worlds from the Eternal Empire, attack supply lines, investigate the weaknesses of this Empire and try to uncover the secrets to defeating them!
Character creation:
Yes, you can play as a Sith in this campaign. Feel free to message me the ideas you have if you are unsure :)
All species are allowed(species from the Unofficial Species Menagerie subject to approval), except clones
Careers allowed:
-ALL F&D careers and specs
-ALL EOTE careers and specs
-ALL AOR careers and specs
-ONLY the following universal careers are allowed; Deathwatch warrior, Imperial Army Cadet(AKA sith army cadet), Pirate, Republic Navy Officer, Republic Representative, Force-sensitive emergent, Force-sensitive outcast
-ONLY the following Clone wars careers and specs are allowed: padawan, jedi knight, jedi master, jedi general, Clone Commander, Clone Officer, Clone Trooper, Clone Pilot.(Clone specs are the “Republic Trooper” specs)
Heroic level rules: +150xp, +9000creds
Custom rules:
  1. All Jedi and Sith can craft their lightsaber from the lightsaber crafting rules from this page( https://star-wars-rpg-ffg.fandom.com/wiki/Lightsaber_Crafting )
  1. All Jedi and Sith characters gain the Padawan OR Knight specialisation for free. (If you choose knight, you must have a Force Rating of 2 before you can add it as a free spec)
  1. If a Jedi/Sith wishes to start with the Padawan spec, the next spec will be considered “in-career” (For eg, if i start with padawan, I can buy the shien expert spec as my 2nd spec for 20xp, and now all Sentinel specs will be “in-career”. So if I want to buy the Shadow spec as a 3rd spec, I would only spend 30xp, but if I wanted to buy the Armourer spec instead, I would have to spend 40xp)
  1. All non-force users receive an extra 20xp in place of a free specialisation.
  1. All characters during character creation will have to pick up an extra background mechanic, but will not be able to get creation bonuses from it. (For eg, I start as a Juyo Berserker and take Duty. I will be able to get the creation bonus from Morality, but not from Duty). Only characters who buy a F&D/Jedi spec as their second spec will be able to get Morality as their second background mechanic. All force users who take an F&D/Jedi spec as their first spec will have Morality as their primary background mechanic.
  1. All PCs will be affected by strain and wound threshold effects from Obligation and Duty triggers regardless of their background mechanic(for eg, a Jedi with Morality and Duty will be affected by Obligation and Duty triggers along with their own Morality triggers. While a character with Obligation and Duty will be affected by both triggers, but will not experience any Morality triggers.
For eg: Joe, Caitlin, Jack, and Christina. Joe and Caitlin have Duty, Jack and Christina have Obligation, and Caitlin and Jack have Morality.
Joe's Duty triggers. Joe's WT increases by 2, Caitlin, Jack, and Christina's WTs increase by 1.
Christina's Obligation triggers as well. Christina's ST decreases by 2, Joe, Caitlin, and Jack's STs decrease by 1.
Caitlin's Morality triggers. Since Morality only affect the character whose Morality triggers, she is the only one affected.
Narratively: Character's Family Obligation triggers with doubles (Strain Threshold lowers by 4 for them, 2 for others). They get a message telling them to come home quick, their parent is dying of [cause], and bring [macguffin], it just might help. This obviously is going to be quite stressful for them, and that will also affect their friends and companions, so their thresholds lower as well (regardless of their background mechanic).)
  1. Sith characters will still use force powers as per RAW(eg spending DS force points to activate force abilities and flipping Light side destiny points to DS when using LS force pips) and will be narratively written as using the dark side
I am looking for max 6 PCs for this game! (Currently have 3 :) )
Restrictions: each background mechanic must have at least 3 PCs in it(eg 3 PCs with the Morality mechanic, 3PCs with the Obligation and 3PCs with the Duty mechanic, and they PCs will most likely overlap in this requirement. So a PC with both morality and duty will count in as 1 PC in both mechanics)
Characters dying is a possibility in this game.
P.S. Due to my IRL schedule and life, as the GM, I expect to post on average about 2-3 times per week. Thus, this campaign may be a bit slower as I do not need the players to post everyday etc.
Huge thank you to @P-47 Thunderbolt and @Edgehawk for helping me out with the rules!
