IF ALL Armada expansions were in-stock, what ships/squadrons would you buy?

By Reavern, in Star Wars: Armada

This is a simple and fun question for Armada veterans and new players trying or thinking about getting into Star Wars Armada:

What ship/squadron expansion(s) would you buy if all Armada products were in-stock right now?

Speaking for myself, I already have one of every ship and squadron expansion for both Imperial and Rebels, but there are still more expansions that I'd like to buy, if I could.

Here's my wishlist:

  1. Onager SD: I want to buy a second Onager so I can try Double Onager builds. I want to try an Onager SD and Onager TB with squadrons support.
  2. (2) MC30: I already own 2 MC30's but I want to try Quad MC30 Ackbar builds.
  3. Rogues & Villains: I have the equivalent of 5 packs of Villains (Imperial), but only 2 Rogues (Rebel), and I want more Scurrgs and YT2400s.
  4. Chimaera: I want a second Chimaera so I can repaint it; I want to try white and blue, inspired by Thrawn's white Grand Admiral uniform and his blue skin; I haven't decided which colour I'll use for the hull and the Chimaera symbol. Also, I'd like to try more Seventh Fleet Star Destroyer ship titles and Mandalorian Gauntlet Fighters.
  5. Starhawk: I want a second Starhawk because... reasons.

I'm interested to know what other Armada players want to buy and why.

Perhaps this could even provide FFG with insight regarding which expansions to prioritize for reprinting.

MC30c. It's the only expansion that I really want that I haven't yet been able to find. Everything else, I either have one or more of (and don't need additional duplicates), or I don't have a desire to add one to my collection.

Clone Wars Stuff.

Of the current products, I have pretty much everything I am likely to want. I tested out double and triple Onager lists, to see if I wanted to buy a 2nd one and decided that I would borrow one if I fly double. Triple was too match-up dependent: big wins or big losses. If Starhawks become overwhelmingly powerful, then Double Onagers should be sufficient to bring them down without needing to field 3. Also playing Sector Fleet games regularly might lead me to more purchases...

Having said that, if I decide to try to fly more than 2 Gladiators in a fleet, then I would have to get some more! And, when the newest ships become available second hand for ludicrously low prices, then I will probably get my 2nd Onager, Starhawk, and maybe even SSD!

Want to share your double Onager??

I'm thinking of doing a 600 pt battle, but I need the rules. Objectives look sucky.

3rd and 4th MC30 for those fun MSU fleets

3rd Rogues pack

3rd and 4th Hammerhead

While its a wishlist, a second SSD.

I am a new player, so there is a ton, mostly imperial.
Need another of each sides squad ones.

Don't have any arquitens, imp carrier, reg isd, or raider. Need another mc30. Probably another rogues and villains too.

Light cruiser x2 cause I don’t have any.

Absolutely agree. If I could buy the Clone Wars expansions, I'd buy at least 400 points worth of ships per faction, and 3-4 squadron packs per faction.

TBH I'd be content if I could simply pre-order the Clone Wars expansions now, because at least then I'd know what I'd be getting whenever they're released.

One more MC30 (to make 4), a second GSD (no, make it two more!), Star Hawk, Onanger, Reb Sqn 1, Imp Sqn 2, R&V, another lawn dart, and I think that’s it.

.....and Clone Wars!

I preordered an Onager and got sick of waiting. I bought another and didn't skip the preorder.

I'm waiting for a good offer to buy a second MC75 for about a year. All other things would have to be cheap to make me buy a second, third, fourth, or fifth. The place at my shelf runs out ...

More starfighters only if I would be payed. (Don't want to paint any solar panels any more...)

And even second hand the prices for most ships are crazy!

Honestly, I'd buy more Arquittens.

Once sector fleet rules were announced it's been much easier to talk folks into games at 800+ points. I've got 4 of them. At 800 points they do really well but I'd love to have a few more to run them at higher point levels.

Glad, assult frig, 2 x Arq., light cruiser, 2 x mc30, profundity, onager, ssd, and stawhawk. Another raider, and both floats.

I want,

A second MC75

A third MC30

A second pelta ( maybe a 3rd and 4th for a crazy proximity mine build that everyone I play will hate.)

Pretty much good with my Imp fleet.

Maybe a third imp squads II... Tie defenders...

2 marks, 1mc80, 2lmc80, 1 pelta, 1mc30 1 nadiri, 2 Onager, 2 arquitens

1 of each MC80 variant, 1 GR75, 2 Gozantis, 1 Chimera, 1 Quasar and mustn't forget the Starhawk and Onager.

...On second thoughts, maybe just chuck in a few extra MC80s for good measure.

Honestly not sure what I want aside from more Firesprays, maybe a couple more CR90s for swarm lists.

Accidentally posted nothing.

Arquitens, really can't have enough of them also I keep thinking about getting a second Onager. I didn't think twin Onagers would work but people have been proving me wrong.

Yeah. I got 3 arquitens at once when they first came out. Now I realize I fell short XD

To be fair, it's difficult to anticipate which ships are worth buying multiples of when they're first released, because the META hasn't been established yet.

And you didn't exactly dip you toe into the pond by buying 3 Arqs when they were released. That was a bold choice; I respect that.

I've never bought more than 2 of a newly released ship or squadron expansion for Armada. But I'm prepared to buy 3 Clone Wars Fleet Expansions when they're released, because it would suck to realize I didn't have enough of a particular ship, like the C70 corvette or Munificent star frigate, and I couldn't get more for a year or longer. So I'm diving in head first with Clone Wars Armada! #noregets 😉

Its a beautiful ship. Even when I don't even put them on the table frequently, I don't regret it. I even want a republic color scheme to be released, lol

Got 3 as well. Wish I had gotten 5. Probably will eventually.

A couple more Arquintens wouldn't go amiss, and I still need about a dozen ISDs for a reenactment of the Battle of Endor.

Scour the second hand market. Keep tabs on all the gaming stores. They came back into stock with no warning in the UK 2 months ago. Different places got them over a 3 weeks time span and they sold out within minutes of being noticed. And I finally have 5.

What makes arqs so good? The cheap cost? Or side attack? Besides the cards in. The pack

Because they have red dice they are extremelly flexible as fleet fillers without forcing you to build in a particular way.
