Bounty tokens

By Alan Noir, in Rules

Did I imagine this or did the rule used to state that if you had a bounty token on you and you killed the one who put it on you, you keep the victory token yourself. Can't see anything in the rules. Did this used to be a rule?

Not that I can recall, it wouldn't make sense.

Yeah that was never a rule. You do keep the token on the unit (because a different bounty hunter might be able to claim it), but you yourself don't get any points from it.

I must have dreamt it.

I should design a new game around all my imaginary rules. Thanks

Bounty Rules did change though.

It used to be if a bounty hunter had a misdion token on him he could claim it at the end of the game no matter how he gained it (so you actually didn't need to kill the bounty hunter who put a bounty on you). With secret mission it got a bit silly since you could transform the bounty on your head into a scenario point if you just survived (collecting the secrtet mission token as a bounty was kinda cool though).

So they changed it that in order to score you would need to fulfill the requirements of your keyword and can't monetize mission tokens any other way.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about that one. Bounty has always been phrased such that you only get the point if you got the token via defeating another unit.

The part about Secret Mission is right though. Probably good thing that was cleared up 🙂

Can you only claim one bounty per side or if you have Bossk and Boba, can you have 2 different bounties and score both?

Given the conditions, each unit with Bounty can gain you one victory token. So with both Boba and Bossk you may gain 2 victory tokens through Bounty.

I think you may be thinking of a fringe case , initially when secret mission was I introduced with R2d2, if a bounty Hunter put a bounty onto R2D2 then this fulfilled the R2 D2 secret mission provided R2 survives, earning R2 a victory point. He didn't have to make it to the enemies deployment zone in that case to trigger secret mission, ultimately and thankfully this was all changed so that the token won by secret mission couldn't be picked up by a bounty Hunter and a bounty Hunter token couldn't trigger secret mission, they are confined to their own rules (though a player with multiple bounty hunters could use either to claim a bounty but using one bounty Hunter to claim both only nets 1 victory point, and if the opposing player kills a bounty Hunter with an already won bounty Hunter token , they only get it if a bounty was put on that specific bounty hunter. Stealing points this way is no longer possible.
