Charge and Detonate x timing/Distract

By Alan Noir, in Rules

If a mini with charge moves into engagement with an enemy and they happen to be near a planted bomb token, does Detonate x activate right after the move itself, or after the charge melee is resolved, should the enemy want to play it?

Also if an enemy has distract placed on it, can it charge another unit so as to not have to attack the designated unit? Would distract prevent the move, permit the move but disallow the charge melee or is it a legitimate tactic to avoid the distract?

"After a unit attacks, moves, or performs an action a charge token can be detonated before any other abilities or effects that occur after a unit performs an action; with the exception of spending a standby token which can be spent by a unit before the token detonates." RR, p. 36.

The charge token will detonate before the charging unit can do a melee attack, after their move. Same goes for similar keywords like steady.

Distract places no restrictions on the targeted unit's movement. So if you choose to engage into a melee fight you are free to do so. When you attack after the engage you have to attack the distracting unit but since you can't use any eligible weapons against the distracting unit (because you are engaged) you can form a second dice pool and attack another unit with eligible weapons (the engaged unit with your melee weapon).

"The attacking unit can only form a second dice pool if, after first forming a dice pool with all eligible weapons, there are still weapons usable by any minis in the unit that were not eligible to be added to the first attack pool targeting the unit that used the distract ability." RR, p. 38.
