Wound distribution on wookies

By Alan Noir, in Rules

Last game we had a unit of wookies behind cover. The leader and the heavy were visible, but the two regular troops were completely blocked. The unit took 4 woulds. I distributed 3 to the heavy, eliminating him, and one to the leader as it was the only one left in sight from the attacker. Next round the remaining Wookies were in meele and suffered 2 wounds. Should these have gone to the already wounded leader, or should they have gone to the regular wookies, as they have to suffer wounds first. We played the latter. This meant that although there were 3 wounds on wookies in play, they still had 3 minis on the board. Was this correct?

No, the priority always goes to the ones that already have wounds if the attacker can see that mini.

For refference, you can check page 80 of the latest version of the rules refference, under "Wounds":

"The unit leader cannot be chosen to suffer wounds unless it is the only mini in the unit that is in line of sight of the attack, if it is the only wounded mini in the unit , or if it is the last mini in the unit."

Gotcha, cheers.
