Can you use Gunslinger with a Standby Token?

Can you use gunslinger on an attack generated by spending a standby token?

Standby says the unit may "perform a free attack action" and Gunslinger triggers when a unit "performs a ranged attack action". So obviously yes I thought.

However the new Cassian article says that in the turn he plays his one pip (which grants gunslinger and then at the end of his activation a free standby token) "Andor can perform an incredible three attacks in a single round". What are they talking about? If you can't use gunslinger off a standby he'd be at three, is there some reason you can't?

Never trust a marketing article to get the rules right. Luke Eddy recently confirmed in an interview on the Notorious Scoundrels podcast that he would get 4 in that case (although he himself originally said 3).

Good to know I'm not going crazy...

I know for a long time (I'm talking about something like 2 years) every single X-Wing article they put up would have a rules error in it. Sometimes they would go back and fix it that day, sometimes they wouldn't. Legion has been relatively smooth in that regard.

So... you can?

Absolutely! Gunslinger triggers when you perform an attack action . And the attack you get from a standby is indeed an action .

Nice one, I heard differing information saying both no and yes (i figured it did count) cheers man

Follow up, does it trigger off Fire support? (using Rex's command card of course)

Gunslinger happens when making an attack. Fire Support is not making an attack, it's just adding a weapon to another unit's attack.
