Had a question regarding specialist trooper minis, the ones that add various upgrade slots to the unit. Do they operate like heavy weapon troops that if they die you lose the upgrade slot? Or is it a permanent buff to the unit?

The upgrade slots only matter during list building. You do not lose the slot during the game if you lose the mini that provided it.

I think he is asking 'can we still use the specialist mini's abilities even though they are dead?'

I'm pretty sure that's not what he's asking based on what he asked...

the heavy weapon trooper upgrade's weapons are unable to be used once they die, so i assumed that's what they were implying. My bad

My question could probably have been framed better.

If I take a comms specialist in my stormtroopers, give them hq uplink and then the comms guy can I still use hw uplink or is the comms slot now lost/locked out?
