Clone Wars Season 7 Spoiler Thread

By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

When Order 66 is executed, do you think there will be scenes of Clones turning on their Jedi commanders like in Episode 3? I'm thinking we might get to see Master Billaba's death and her padawan Caleb Dume's escape, further linking this show to Rebels.

I think so. They did a montage of Jedi Masters going to the outer rim battle fields so I can see these being who we see in Order 66

You’re right. It doesn’t contradict it, but I feel it robs it of its gravitas. Just like how much of the ST doesn’t contradict the OT but really diminishes the impact of its major events.

I get the impression the Filoni or other power-that-be feel they wasted good story elements in the Ahsoka novel and so they are rehashing them here. Who know maybe these scripts drive the novel because they never thought they’d get to tell them in Clone Wars.
Either way it’s strikes me as lazy writing and is not a practice that I feel bodes well for the stories to come.

Actually, the Ahsoka novel used elements that were originally slated to be in the Clone Wars series but were added to the novel following the cancellation of the cartoon. This is also true of Son of Dathomir.

I don't think we'll see those Jedi deaths in Clone Wars. They've already been covered in Episode 3. We saw Master Billaba and her padawan Caleb Dume at the holotable. I believe we're going to see what happened to her in Order 66.

We’ve seen that, too, though, in the Kanan: The Last Padawan comic. While it’s still possible it could be shown, I’m not holding my breath.

And speaking of the latest episode....HOLY CRAP!!!!

And, watching it again, I believe there was a lot of motion capture involved with this duel.

Top 3 fights in my opinion has one or both of Maul or Ahsoka

In order of airing:

Ahsoka vs Vader

Maul vs Obi Wan (Rebels)

Ahsoka vs Maul on Mandalore

There are so many good ones! I feel like I have to add Anakin vs. Obi-Wan on Mustafar, but I'm not sure what my top 3 would be.

So many great moments in this episode and the editing was amazing! Those smash cuts from just as the lightsabres are about to clash to the explosions from the battle outside... just beautiful.

Surprised Ashoka bested Maul. But as she, herself, admitted, it seemed he wasn’t fighting at his best... Guess he was distracted by the galaxy-changing visions he was receiving. *shrug*
Anyway, another good one. Loving this final arc (so far).

There were definitely some interesting facets to the fight. Technically, Maul won the duel, but failed to finish her. I think they did a great job showing how erratic and unfocused Maul was. I absolutely loved every bit of it.

I hope we at least see what happens with Rex and Ashoka; I’d hate this series to end on that kind of cliffhanger.

I doubt it would. They've done so well so far, I doubt they'd pull something like that.

Well Dave specifically said this is to tie up the loose ends...

Just rewatched it, and it was even more perfect the second time round!

Couple things though: Noticed this the first time round, but didn't feel a need to bring it up in my original review: Always, every time, every single time the good guys enter the cell with a prisoner, they shut the cell door behind them. As soon as they didn't this time, I knew they left it open just so they could have Saxon shoot Almec. Bit unusual, but overlookable.

Something I first noticed second time through, RIP that poor clone who got shot... and then stepped on by an AT-TE. Ouch.

@P-47 Thunderbolt Saxon shot him through the glass. You can see the holes in the glass when the camera pans back. He must have had a seriously high powered blaster.

It's hard to tell. There are blaster marks on the glass, but they aren't at the right level and we can't tell if they would have had sufficient power after hitting the glass to do much damage (it's hard to tell if they even completely penetrated the glass). My guess would be that those marks were from the fire he exchanged with the guards. Based on the angles involved, I think he shot him through the open door.

Anyone else notice the Palpatine howl from the start of his fight with the Jedi who went to arrest him when Maul and Ahsoka’s fight started?

Wait. What happen?

When Maul makes his first strike, you can hear Palpatine's shriek as he attacks the Jedi. If you look online, you'll find that some have already done a side-by-side starting at that point, and the events sync up in interesting ways. Basically, though, Maul and Ahsoka's fight appears to be happening at the same moment Palpatine fights Mace and company.
