How do you "place" the unit selected? How do you meaure that distance 1 that is "moved", from the leader or from any mini? Can be used to exit melee or enter melee?

You measure the distance from any mini in the unit, but when you place it, the whole unit must be inside range 1 of where you measured.
EDIT: Nashjaee already posted the official rule on this.
Edited by Lemmiwinks86Thanks for your answer.
We are having a very long debate about this card in the spanish wassup group. Is your answer oficial or is your interpretation? Because others interpretate that card in another way and they think, for example, that can be used to enter melee and that the distance is measured from the leader and the you put the other minis in cohesion.

You can use it to exit a melee as long as that unit can normally do that without withdrawing, because for this last cases there is no other way mentioned in the rules that they can do that. In fact the rules say "To exit an engagement, a unit must withdraw..."
Both of these actually are allowed. There’s a forum ruling on it.
ok, thanks

I posted the official answer about melee above. But Lemmiwinks’ answer about range is correct; that’s how range measurements work in Legion. For anything other than an attack, range is measured from any mini. And since this card specifies “within”, all of the minis’ final position must be entirely inside range 1 of whichever mini you started the measurement from.
Edit: oh I forgot the official ruling also describes the range part, haha!

Thanks for that refference, I totally missed it.
A little question, about entering melee with this card. As for the FAQ I understand you can initiate that melee contacting the enemy with any miniature, not only the leader, right?

Yes, although it doesn’t really matter. All of the minis must be within range 1 anyway, so you can’t use cohesion to get some extra range or anything like that. If any of the minis can reach base contact, then so can the leader in this case.

Yes. But after you make contact with 1 mini for a melee, the other minis need to "join in" and be put in contact as well, unless they don't have a melee weapon.
Whenever there are minis that are not in base contact with an enemy mini but those minis have a melee weapon and the unit to which they belong is in a melee, those minis must be placed in base contact with an enemy mini in the same melee as their unit if possible. This can happen when minis in a melee suffer wounds and are defeated, creating space for other minis that were not previously in base contact to be placed in base contact.
Ok, this card is much better now that I know how it really works! 😀
