Coordinate in team battle

By Mokoshkana, in Rules

Coordinate pg 26:

"Afer a unit with the coordinate keyword is issued an order, it may issue an order to a friendly unit at range 1 that has the unit name or type specifed by the coordinate keyword."

Additional Rules (for team battle) pg 78:

"A player's teammate's units are considered friendly units for all gameplay efects, including the efects on command cards; however, a player can only issue orders to their own units and can only activate their own units when drawing order tokens from their order pool."

Can player A's B-1 droid unit coordinate their teammate's (player B) B-2 droid unit? I feel like this would work since the droid unit is issuing the order and not the player, but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

It doesn’t work, because each player can only issue orders to their own units.

Agreed with TP. It doesn’t work.

Issuing orders the “normal” way uses similar language in the sense that one of the units on the board is doing the issuing. You nominate a commander and “That commander issues orders to the number and type of units presented on the revealed command card.” (page 45)

So if you try to argue player vs unit for this, then that rule becomes meaningless 😉

Looks like the new rules allows this now. Armies will be able to aggressive tactics one another and droid coordinate will be pretty beastly in a grand alliance.

"Lastly, the Team Battle rules have been updated to allow players to issue orders to their teammate’s units. This will allow Chewbacca’s command cards to really shine, as well as add another layer of strategy for the Clone Wars factions that rely heavily on being issued orders for their respective abilities."
