suppression

By pizza78, in Rules

HI, one question about suppression.

One unit of mortal trooper attacks another unit and he rolls 3 white empty dices, is the suppression token apply to the defender?

No, supression is only given if at least one hit was rolled. The supressive rules adds one supression if supression is given.

Actually no. One suppression is given. Suppressive works without restriction and adds one suppression token no matter if the attack produces a hit or not.

Actually, no. You have to get (roll or convert a surge) a hit or crit to give a suppression token. You might want to review the appropriate RRG entry.

You are quoting the general rule for suppressions, but SailorMeni is talking about Suppressive keyword, which according 1.5.1. does not require any specific result on the attack.

Yep, I didn't understand the point he was making. Thank you.

The key rule here is this:

"The suppression token gained by suppressive is in addition to any other suppression tokens the defender gains from the attack."

If you roll no hits/crits, you would deal 0 suppression tokens from the attack, plus 1 from Suppressive.
