Played a skirmish game using my newly finished droids. I faced a krennic and operative vader list with some storm and snowtroopers.
I had grievious with endurance and aggressive tactics. 2 units of battle droids with extra droid, 2 with extra droid and ec5 supporter by a droidekas unit with targeting array.
We played the kill point objective with clear condition and courner deployment.
Skrimish really puts you into range, much quicker and CIS really wants to huddle togheter more than what I'm used to with rebels.
Battle droids are pretty weak as expected, but they are hard to destroy thanks to all the wounds. Droidekas are even better than expected. Their guns with free aims is really effective and supressive is very good to have.
I played grievious command cards a bit to aggressive and vader managed to force push me around. I still managed a nice lightsaber whirlwind that killed 4 troopers and have out 6 supression!
The stars of the CIS faction will not be the corps units, but they are still a nice swarming backbone. You can't count much on their offensive output though event with aim tokens. Droidekas and the coming AAT will be the offensive stuff, grievious feels like an absolute beast. His only drawback is the 2 courage value, hence the endurance upgrade.
First impressions is that aggressive tactics and strict orders will be glued to griveous and droidekas need their targeting array. I think electro binoculars is gonna be a staple for b1 since ai attack often leaves them stuck with either a move or dodge after attacking, this only happened on turns they got separated or you had to few orders to give. Also giving another squad an aim will help with their crappy dice.
