Quick Question on Dual Wielding

By CloudyLemonade92, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hello,

Could I potentially dual wield a Vibro-Rapier with a Neuronic Whip? The idea is that with enough advantages I could potentially ensnare the target with 2 advantages and hit with the rapier with another two. Thoughts?

When dual wielding, you can spend Advantage to trigger any weapon quality from a weapon that hits.

If the Neuronic Whip is in your off-hand, you'd need to spend 2 Advantage to hit with it before you can spend 2 Advantage to trigger Ensnare.
If it is in your primary hand, you can spend 2 Advantage to trigger Ensnare, regardless of what (if anything) you have in you off-hand.

Do it.

Aha, ok, should of just asked in the OOC . Lol, thanks.

Nah. Asking in the OOC is fine, of course, and sometimes the right answer can be “ask your gm.” This forum is a tremendous resource, however, and inquiring in the general forum can provide a broader spectrum of responses.

Could I potentially use the Neuronic Whip as if it was in my main hand even though it is in my off hand?

For instance. One round using the rapier as the main weapon, with a chance to use the whip. Then another round using the whip as the main weapon with the chance to use the rapier? Or, am I confined to using the rapier as the main weapon only, due to the way I'm holding them?

If that's the case, what would be involved in flipping them over. Would that be a maneuver?

You designate a weapon as your primary weapon. You can designate either weapon as a primary weapon for any given turn. the game has no rules differentiating right hand from left hand. My use of primary hand and off-hand was more colloquial and has nothing to do with the rules.

basically at the time of the attack you choose which weapon is your primary. then you build your pool then you spend advantage on desired effects. you can only apply effects for weapons you have hit with. So if it is your off hand you have to activate a hit first.

Handedness isn't really included in this game. There shouldn't be any problems swapping which one is the primary one as needed. Whatever your off-hand, so to speak, is holding isn't really important unless you're using it to attack as well.
