If you guys can clarify something for me...

...for the Rebel Specialist Officer...if I want to use him as a Commander, can I use him as a stand alone model or does he have to join a unit? If he joins a unit [say Rebel Veterans], I have to take the "Rebel Officer" upgrade card and he takes up a Personnel upgrade spot and I can no longer add an additional trooper?

If he is a commander, he is stand alone. If he is part of a unit, he takes up the personnel slot and becomes the units leader. He cannot be part of a unit and be a commander.

Except in the situation where your original commander (s) are dead , and you can nominate the unit with the commander as the army commander
