VT-1 runs his internal diagnostics before responding, "Nayc, ni jate. Vore buir!" he continues down the corridor, scanning for anything useful. He moves towards a lit corridor, but reconsiders at an alarming groan from the ceiling. He drops the respirator and climbs back into one of the droid access tunnels and makes his way down a couple decks, following another faint power source he picked up on his scanners, hoping to find something his buir could use.

Nayc, ni jate. Vore buir! = No, I'm find. Thank you mom!

Kebiin and Tam notice an access terminal light up, not far from their position near the reactor room light up. They approach and access the system, entering a request for a status report. When the terminal responded it didn't look very promising. As expected, most of the hull was in rough shape, most of the systems were down or entirely destroyed in the crash, including the central droid control brain and it's connecting systems. almost all the weapons were gone, except for a few point defense weaponry. Kebiin made a note and sent that infor for Naz to review, Looks like we have access to the Central droid garrison, Organic crew quarters, and the bridge. Kebiin told Tam.

Organic? Tam asked, looking around. Are they still here?

Kebiin went back to the terminal's controls. ..No, looks like some made it off the ship, escape pods are all launched. Kebiin called up the locations of the three accessible areas. Garrison is.. below us, quarters are enroute towards the bridge.. Garrison first?

Tam shrugged, Might as well..

they pulled up the Turbolift locations, and headed to the nearest cluster.. the first one they tried wouldn't work, just made a grinding noise.. the second one opened and seemed to be safe enough to be still operationable.

As Tam and Kebiin exit the lift and open the door into the main droid garrison, they see rack after rack stacked up 20 meters high and stretching out for a good 50 meters at least. One thing is quite quickly apparent. They aren't the first people here. Aside from some hopelessly damaged specimens on the floor, the entire place is empty of droids. The next room over is a droid repair shop with stations for recharging individual droids, and the place has clearly been picked over. The apparatus built into the ship itself is still intact (with the exception of what seems to have been destroyed in the crash), but the repair droids are gone and there are no battle droids. The VTs whistle sadly and one of them puts a manipulator on Tam's leg comfortingly. However, as Tam continues looking about the room, she notices a set of tools in an alcove, apparently left behind at some point. They do not look like they've been down here for long, especially not since the ship crashed.

VT-1 keeps heading down deeper into the ship, following the power signature as it got stronger. He came out of the tunnel on the lowest surviving deck, but the scanner was still showing him as being 30 meters above the source. He heard another screech from down the corridor and beeped nervously as he began probing the area. In spite of the darkness, he discovered a lift in the floor that definitely wasn't part of the ship's original construction. He got on and found the control panel, pressing the button to go down.
Down this deep in the ship and without operational relays scattered throughout the ship to maintain the comlinks' signals, the message is static-y and hard to make out. Bu *ksh* ? *krsch* ound *kkrssch* lift. Head *kkrssch* ground. Wait, *kkrssch* signs, *ksch* GAA'TAYL *ksh* IR!" then static as the transmission cuts out.

VT? Tam calls.. VT, ad'ika? Keb'ika, I don't think we're alone.. she points at the tools.

Shab... Ok, can you track were VT is? Kebiin asked.

Yes, he's this wa- ayyyyyyyyyy Tam began, as the deck creaked and collapsed under her weight. Kebiin managed to scrabble back away from the slightly growing hole in the shifting deck plates, several shifted from where she had just been standing on and fell into the hole. Tam cried out in pain as the plates bounced off her armor, swearing in at least three languages that Kebiin could catch.

Tam!! Kebiin called out, are you ok vod'ika?!

oww... Tam grumbled.. Help me out, will you? Carefully..

Kebiin laid down on the deck and carefully shimmied her way to the hole and reached down, grabbing Tam's outstretched hand and started to haul her up. After a couple attempts, Kebiin managed to haul her sister back to safety, both of them lay there on the deck a moment catching their breath. Tam tiredly swatted Kebiin, Thanks nervod.. as she got to her feet, Come on, VT needs our help.

As they reach the site of VT-1's last transmission, they see a wide, square hole. One of the VTs whistles sadly, "Buir? Tion vod daab ogir? Tion vod morut'yc?" One of the others floats over towards the hole and looks down, "Ne ni haa'taylir osik." The others turn to Tam, "Buir? Gar copaanir mhi slanar daab bal echoy?" With their repulsorlifts, they ought to be able to make it down easily enough.

Tion vod daab ogir? Tion vod morut'yc? = Is vod down there? Is vod safe? Ne ni haa'taylir osik = I can't see osik (probably something picked up from Tam, but sounds kinda disturbing coming from such a childish voice). Gar copaanir mhi slanar daab bal echoy? = You want us to go down and search? (Echoy also means mourn, and I am not sure what exactly it means by "search," however, I'm going to assume it means what I want it to.

Find your older brother ad'ika Tam instructed, Be careful.

The little droids salute, "Elek buir! Par ori'vod!" and begin to lower themselves down through the shaft. One of them pops up its scanner antenna, "Buir, I'm picking up lifesigns!" Everyone hears a loud, chaotic, screeching sound as at least fifteen mynocks swarm up from the shaft, making straight for the VTs.

Tam and Kebiin swore as they drew their pistols, Tam was a little faster, shooting into the mass of flapping leathery wings. She managed to drop one, and get a hit on a shoulder of another.

As the stricken mynock shrieked and plummeted down the shaft, three other mynocks swooped in and grabbed onto one of the VT-0s, latching on with mouths and limbs and trying to fly away. The small droid whistled in shock and fear, "Buir! Gaa'tayl!" Its manipulators grabbed helplessly at the mynocks as it tried to free itself, continuing to beep and whistle in alarm.

Kebiin let off a stream of shots and managed to take out two more. Filthy buggers! Get out of here! she yelled.

The remaining creatures swoop in on the little droids. The first group grabs one of them as one of the VT's fends off one group, only to get snatched by another group which promptly carries it off towards the bottom of the shaft, wailing for Tam. The last VT tries to grab at one of the Mynocks holding its vod, but the mynocks shake off its manipulator's grip and the little droid speeds back to Tam and Kebiin before the unattached mynocks can grab at it. "Buir! Gaa'taylir vode!"

Don't you hurt my ad'ika! Tam yells at the Mynocks, shooting into the the group trying to carry away a VT, she managed to take out the the one holding to the poor droid, releasing it from it's grasp.

They're getting away with the droids! Kebiin yelled over the commotion, trying her best to aim into one of the Mynock group that was carrying away another VT. She let off a stream of blaster fire, but due to all the chaos of flapping wings, only managed to hit the deck head. Gar shab'ika!!

Forgot Tam...

The remaining mynocks shriek and flutter, dispersing into the darkness below, carrying off the remaining VT who struggles valiantly to free himself from the mynocks' clutches. The mynocks leave the shaft, but in the darkness below, Tam and Kebiin are unable to track where they went.

Ad'ika, report! Tam called over her comlink, she pulled out her datapad and tried to locate them by pinging their coms, but there was too much interference from the wreckage. Ad'ika, can any of you hear me?

She knelt down at the opening to the shaft, looking for any sign of the droids.. just barely visible in the darkness, she could make out the comms antenna from VT-1. oh no....

Kebiin put a hand on Tam's back, It'll be ok vod'ika, she assured her, We'll find them.

Tam looked at the remaining VT's, Alright ad'ika, one of you with Keb'ika, one with me. Each of us will go down separate tunnels, so keep your sensors peeled for your vode, ok?

The VT's looked at each other before they responded, Yes buir.

Kebiin looked at the little droids.. Are they.. nervous? She signaled one to her side, Ok little one, you're with me.. she looked to Tam, Ready?

Tam nodded, Ready.

They headed down the shaft and surveyed the beginning of the tunnel system, Tam picked up the antenna and put in a pouch. Tam let out a sigh as she drew her blaster, Alright, let's go find my babies. I'll go down this tunnel. She pulled out a stylus and drew an "X" on the tunnel wall, Kebiin nodded and followed her actions on her own tunnel.

Tam climbs up into the tunnel easily enough, and is able to stand comfortably, though walking over the uneven surface was a bit less comfortable. A thought briefly runs through her mind that she doesn't want to run into whatever carved these tunnels. The tunnel gradually turns upwards as they continue on, eventually getting to the point where Tam was struggling to gain traction on the oddly smooth tunnel. As she reconsiders her course of action, the VT beeps quietly, "Buir, I have life sign readings nearby." It shrinks behind Tam, tucking itself up between her and the tunnel wall and trilling softly. Tam shivers and rubs her arms as she glances up the tunnel again, seeing how it goes up and corkscrews back around and out of sight. She feels the cold numbing her fingers as she braces against the wall to avoid sliding back down the way she came.

Kebiin shivers as she walks through the tunnel with Tam's droid cautiously following her, stopping every couple moments to scan. The tunnel curved up a bit before turning to the side and dipping down, then turning back up gently and proceeding on for a ways before finally leveling out. The droid behind her beeps and shuts down entirely, retracting its antennae and arms and even shutting off its repulsorlifts, resting on its small legs. A couple seconds later, Kebiin understands the droid's alarm as she hears a shriek from down the tunnel and around the next corner.

Kebiin rounds the corner to find VT-1 surrounded by a cluster of Vynocks. She quickly aims and fires at the Vynocks, but only manages to cause them to scatter further in the tunnel, but leaving poor VT-1 behind.

Kebiin kneels down and picks him up and returns to where the other VT shut down. She set VT-1 down, and initiates the system reboot on the VT-0, when it reactivated, she sighed and tapped the top of it's head. We found your vod. Help me take him back so Tam can get him repaired.. She tilted her head, considering the jittery little droid. I'll talk to Tam and Naz, let's see if we can get you guys some weapons so you can defend yourselves.

Tam looked around the corner of the tunnel, then turned to the VT floating just behind. Can you find any sign of your vod? The VT paused, as it scanned the area. After a moment it let out a mournful tone.

It's ok ad'ika, these tunnels must have some mineral causing the interference.

Tam, it's Kebiin, Kebiin's voice came across the comm, I've found VT-1.. he's a bit of a mess, but we're headed back.. this cold is beginning to be a problem. We need to get back to the ship and warm up, see if there are environmental protective gear.

Tam shivered involuntarily at the mention of the cold, she didn't want to abandon her droids, but Kebiin was right. They wouldn't be of much help to her missing ad'ika if they froze to death.. at least they cleared two of the four tunnels.

Tam and Kebiin made their way back to the Wayfarer and Tam headed straight to her work space to get started on repairing VT-1 as Kebiin searched the ship for anything to wear to hold back the cold so they could return to the wreck to finish their search for the missing droids and investigating the ship itself.

Tam's fingers were colder than she realized. She was barely able to handle her tools properly and kept dropping most of them.

Kebiin returned with a pair of suits, Vod'ka, we seriously need to check over this ship. Kebiin told Tam as she handed over a suit, We have enough suits for all four of us. I let the others know they can follow when they're ready. but I knew you'd want to go back as soon as you could.

Tam nodded her thanks as she took the suit and began changing. We did go a bit hastily didn't we? Tam sighed, We need to slow down and plan more...

As soon as Tam and Kebiin suited up, they returned to the wreck.

Now in the space suits, Tam and Kebiin return to the wreck, docking at the same port. They each take a droid, Kebiin insisting that Tam take the "chaabir beskar'ade," and split up, Tam leaving in search of her remaining babies while Kebiin investigates the bridge.

Tam heads down towards the shaft, picking her way through the scattered plating, ducking under hanging wires, and watching out for weakened sections of floor, not wanting to repeat her previous performance, necessitating Kebiin rescuing her again. She takes a moment to reflect on how much more comfortable it is with the spacesuit compared to her armor, as she can't even feel the cold.

When she comes to the lift, her droid hangs back until Tam reassures it and starts to activate the lift. It gives an unsure whistle before moving over to Tam, staying close, as the lift lurches and creaks into motion. The integrated glow rod on Tam's helmet sends a beam of light into the darkness and it settles on a vynock that screeches and flutters off into one of the tunnels before Tam can react. The VT trills again and it grabs onto a fold of Tam's suit just under her knee with one manipulator, clutching onto one of the safety rails with its other manipulator, determined that it won't get carried off.

As the lift reaches the bottom, Tam steps off, the droid reluctantly following, and walks to the center of the shaft, looking at the different tunnels in turn, trying to decide which path to take. The droid's scanner is not powerful enough to find any life or power signs in the tunnels and reluctantly admits this to Tam after attempting to scan.

Tam hears a shriek from the tunnel she had been in before, and sighs. She knows there are vynocks in their, but she doesn't know if there is a VT in their. She isn't happy about the prospect of climbing back up through and around the tunnel, and especially not the corkscrew where she stopped last time. The smoothness of the tunnel didn't encourage her either.

Kebiin walks quickly and confidently forwards, the VT trailing behind as it struggles to keep up and look for useful bits and pieces at the same time. Kebiin comes to the lift from earlier and confirms that it still works, stepping in and waiting for the little droid to catch up. It beeps indignantly she glowers at it, complaining about her pace. It scoots in beside her as she shuts the door and the turbolift starts to move up. It gives a couple worrying rattles as it moves, but it is a pretty smooth ride, all things considering, and they reach their destination without incident.

She steps out of the turbolift into a rather brightly lit hallway in the part of the ship intended for organic crew. She glances around and sees that it is in relatively good condition. A couple of the lights are out, but that's no surprise. The VT pops up its scanner antenna and beeps after a moment, confirming that the atmosphere is breathable and the temperature is moderate, if a bit chilly.

Tam sighed heavily. I've got a feeling that if I don't check that dikut'la tunnel, it'll turn out to be where your vod'e are... she glances at the VT in time to see it's manipulator arms go limp, it's own approximation of Tam's sigh of resignation. You're thinking it too? Ok, verd'ika, let's go hunting for your vod. Tam says as she makes her way into the corkscrew tunnel.

Meanwhile Kebiin is experiencing her own bad feeling. Can you get an estimation of how long the environment has been in this good a condition? she asked the VT. I think someone is living here.. and it isn't just vynocks.

Tam climbs up into the tunnel again and walks forward with the droid trailing behind cautiously, constantly evaluating the risks of maintaining distance versus being too far forwards. The tunnel gradually turns upwards as they continue on, eventually getting to the point where Tam was once more struggling to gain traction. As Tam reaches the base of the corkscrew, she hears a vynock shriek. The VT tucks itself between Tam and the wall, then pops out its antenna and scans again, whistling mournfully as it is still dealing with too much interference.

The VT beeps in the negative, "Nayc, a ni ret liser... from the bridge..." it muses, looking up and down the hall before venturing forth.

Nayc, a ni ret liser... = No, but I might be able to...

Tam draws her blaster in preparation as she moves forward, cursing whatever was causing the interference..

Kebiin growls under her breath.. Alright ad'ika, nice and easy.. she says softly, moving towards the bridge. Keep a scanner out for possible residences..
