Fire Support for splitted attack pool

By Gii1, in Rules

While forming two attack pools against different units in the same attack, can I apply fire support for each attack pool?

EDIT: I stand corrected as step 3 makes you repeat steps 1-2 so you effectively can use 2 Fire support from 2 different units in this case.

You absolutely can, but each Fire Support must come from a different unit (so if you Fire Support twice, you flip 2 different command tokens facedown).

Step 3 (Declare Additional Defender) instructs you to repeat steps 1-2. So you are forming a different attack pool for each defender, which is where Fire Support would be able to trigger.

The question is: would you want to use 3 activations on one attack action?

I can think of some cases, but usually maybe not.

A BARC splits fire to give 2 Z6s surge:hit, effectively reduce the defender's cover (because you're combining attacks into one), and delete 2 units before they get to activate? 😁

Thank you for you response.

It is better for me if i need only one BARC speeder to get the surge:hit for my clones :)

Or one Clone Captain Rex (who can trigger two with his Gunslinger).
