SKIRMISH Rules?

By lologrelol, in Rules

Restrictions:

  • Core and Specialists only
  • No command cards
  • No unit tokens
  • Simply place a face down token once a model has activated.
  • 100 points MAX. 80 is probably a better starting point.

Structure Changes:

  • Randomly determine first player each round
  • 3 x 3 board
  • Select 1 model in list to automatically transfer bravery to friendly units within range 2 ("commander")
  • Halve distances on mission deployment zones
  • Halve the cost of upgrades (rounding up)

Model Changes:

  • Each model is their own unit
  • Each model doubles their HP value
  • Each model doubles their attack dice values

Any other ideas? 😃

I don't get the point of this. It's the same as the intro game except you can add the Specialists packs and everything is x2 and takes way, WAY longer given that you're activating one model at a time. Why do you need to assign a commander if the armies already probably include Luke and Vader?

Wait, "no unit tokens?" Like, order tokens? Shouldn't you at least use them to determine which models have activated, even if you're talking about perfect activation control? I assume you're talking about 14-15 models or so and it will get really confusing, really fast.

It really seems like a very lesser version of the game we already have

I'd recommend looking at the free Star Breach rules, and NCO (historical skirmish game by same author iirc).
