[Ruling] Conflict Between Kin

By Bayushi Shunsuke, in L5R LCG: Rules Discussion

"each participating character your opponent controls cannot be chosen as the target of an event and cannot have an attachment played on it if that card shares a clan affiliation with the character."

Does the sharing a clan affiliation apply to both attachments and events?

During conflicts at this province, each {participating} character {your opponent controls} cannot be chosen as the target of an event and cannot have an attachment played on it if that card {shares a clan affiliation} with the character .

The bold words refer to the same objects and the italicized words refer to the same objects. All qualifiers are in brackets.

The card game would not appreciate printing such formatting on the card, but the qualifiers are:

  • Character (participating, opponent controls)
  • Event (shares a clan affiliation with character)
  • Attachment (shares a clan affiliation with character)

Simplified, that would be:

During conflicts, character cannot have events target or attachments played on if card shares a clan affiliation with card .
