If a unit with in your standby range activates to fire at you, do they resolve there activation before standby giving them the possibility of putting a suppression on you. The same as Tauntaun charge against standby unit , would charge resolve before standby unit could fire.

so standby doesn't trigger on activation but
After an enemy unit attacks, moves, or performs an action , if that unit is at range 1–2 and in line of sight of a unit with a standby token
so if you attack them as your first action yes you can put a suppression on them preventing the attack.
tauntaun would have to move giving the unit the ability to standby attack before relentless triggers for the charge attack.

as long as they don't move or perform an action like gain aim yes they can attack you putting suppression on you before you can attack.
