Panicked unit moving outside of leader's influence and a LOS question.

By gcanders, in Rules

1. When a unit's suppression is enough to have them in 'panic', but they are in range of their leader, and they choose to move outside of their leader's influence, what happens? It took the unit 1 action to move outside of the leaders influence, but then do they get their second action?

2. Considering the ATST as a participant in a battle and as terrain, how do you determine line of site? When we were playing, I could slightly see the top of another unit's head looking around the bases diameter (we considered the base size and imagined a cylinder going all the way up to the top of the model to block los). It was so hard to tell exactly how the cylinder would block los, we just determined no los. Also, when we used the ATST as terrain only, we still used the cylinder rule, and we said we could not shoot between the legs.

3. I listened to Crabbok's video on the upcoming rule changes, but I could not find the new rules for moving compulsory vehicles and the damage they take running into objects. Did I hear him incorrectly?

Thanks for any input.

1. IF a unit is suppressed but didn't panic then it only gets 1 action. if it moves outside of the leader range (1-3) then nothing happens. as it already did the rally step. on the next turn it has to rally and if it fails to remove enough suppression equal to double the moral of that unit then it will flee. the same thing is done if they move within range of the unit leader nothing changes as it has already activated and done the rally step so it doesn't gain a action.

2. LOS is deterimine from the top center of the mini, if you can see any part from the base to a hand sticking up you technically have LOS to the mini, it might be obscured but you can still see the mini. the only time this isn't true is with area terrain, in which you take the highest spot and the widest spot of the base and use that as the cylinder rule. if you can see the mini outside of this rule then yes you can see the mini. before the game starts you should establish this before red/blue player is determine. as for the shooting between the legs you determine this before the game starts if you both agree you can do it then you agree if not roll off.

3. page 23 " To perform a compulsory move, the unit performs a full move at its maximum speed. If it cannot do so, or if a full move would cause any part of the unit leader’s base to be outside the battlefield, it can perform a partial move instead, ending its movement as far along the movement template as possible. If the unit performs a partial movement in this way, the unit suffers a number of wounds equal to its maximum speed "

1. The only time you check to see if a unit panics (or is suppressed and loses an action) is at the end of the Rally step. After that point they are good to do whatever.

2. If your'e using it as terrain, do whaever you want, just decide before the game starts. As a unit, the AT-St is a Ground Vehicle with legs, so it is area terrain (a cylinder just as you described) that provides light cover to anything that is obscured by it. It does not block LoS entirely.

3. Are you looking in the Rules Reference Guide on the FFG website? They modified those rules a few months ago so I think the last 3 versions should have those rules. Basically, you can now slide the model 1/2 a base length back down the movement tool to attempt to prevent taking damage.

Thank for the replies.

For 3, I think I was just listening to an older video. I thought they modified it further in the rules.
