Do detached units count towards the corps requirement? For example could I have 2 Shore troopers and 2 mortars? Or would I need a unit of storms or snows?

They do count, they are their own unit with the only difference that to be able to put them in your army you need to put too a Shore Trooper unit.

They follow all the normal rules for army composition.
