Last shot takes place 2 years after the battle of jakku which would only put it 3 years after endor

You are correct, even so, three years is still a fairly long time. Especially if you are dedicated and have a talent. With computers in star wars often having intelligence in their own right, slicing may be a very different process that current day hacking.

If there are natural, giant predators on their world capable of squashing or limiting their advancement, then, yeah, I'd say they have ample reason to change.

They may not have the opportunity. If you look at their technology, the materials they use limit how far they can progress. Stone/flint, wood, bone, and leather limit what they create. It is likely they either have no access to metal, which stifles their technology, but that doesn't mean their culture suffers. What you can build does not equate intelligence.

A culture even that has hardships such as the ewoks do (gorax) seems thriving. Large villages, in relative safety in the trees, elaborate traps, artillery and, lets not forget, flying - something humans didn't accomplish until we had metalurgy. If an ewok can design a glider, catapult, and tree bound civilizations, I don't think they are unintelligent. With given the proper tools - who knows.

The point is, saying it doesn't make sense is a a prejudicial issue where you equate intelligence with technological progress, and that I disagree with.

Let's not forget the ancient Greeks were performing successful brain surgeries thousands of years ago and then we stumbled and just 300-600 years ago you were sick because ghosts in the blood and you needed to be bled or you might have been a witch. In the 16th century there were guns and sailing ships that circumvented the globe and in North America you had tribes running along (no horses in NA) their pray with bows. A little before this time in South/Central America there were tribes building artificial islands that supports Tens (possibly 100) of thousands of people and a thriving market that commerce set up for hundreds of miles away, and then there wasn't.

Explain why that makes no sense? Obviously ewoks are quite intelligent and capable craftsmen. They have cities held aloft in the trees, elaborate traps.

We have seen in return if the Jedi, ewoks learning how to use technology quite quickly.

If it weren't for the natural (giant) predators on their world, I suspect their level of technology would be much higher.

There is also the possibility that they have also chosen not to improve. It is, mainly a colonial mindset that looks on a lower technology culture as “primitive” and lesser. If the ewoks can live in relative safety, provide for themselves, and are happy, why do they need to change?

Perhaps some wished to explore the galaxy after Endor, while others did not.

Why is it hard to believe that a highly intelligent species could learn to operate computers? In, what 7 years (when Last Shot takes place), said ewok could learn.

we'll want getting into colonialism and the world viewed of such at all. however to the point, I misunderstood and thought the book was before the trilogy

nope not prejudice Mr assumptions, it was a misunderstanding of the timeline of the book.

your assumptions of my apparent lack of understanding of the situation and the presumed meaning inferred is prejudice >_<

It should be remembered that the Ancient Greeks, and later the Romans, started the idea of bleeding based on their concept of bodily humors. This isn't a case of forgetting something, or regressing, but of the wrong ideas being passed on and preserved as for far too long, leading to stagnation and all the problems that causes.

Then I will issue an apology for my assumption. I have been seeing an upsurge in racism in my area, with much directed at indigenous peoples, so it is a bit of a trigger issue for me.

However, your post was extremely vague, and I jumped the gun. On a less serious side, I see a lot of dismissal of ewoks for being primitive, which I disagree with.

Again, my apologies for jumping to conclusions.

no worries man I wasn't actually offended. I was being facetious.

sorry about the issues in your area though.

So...any word on those Yub Nubs?

We need em but I don’t want to paint em.

Realistically, what would they actually do in this game? I guess they could have some trap setting abilities, but that would be weird on any place not a giant forest. They are armed with slingshots and stone spears right?

yes they are armed with slingshots and spears that kill red saving throw stormtroopers easily.

they also have log superweapons that one shot at-sts.

and they possess an uncanny ability to steal and operate any enemy vehicle

not even overpowered GAR would stand a chance against ewoks.

They get a double sized card for all the keywords their weapons get (Pierce, Impact, Poison, Lethal, Low-Profile, Armor, Nimble, Impervious, Ready . . . the list goes on )

Plus, cards will need to be altered to make room for Teek's movement rating, when he gets added as a specialist.
