Thought we could use a central hub for ssd painting inspiration, tips, and ideas. The ssd comes stock with blue engines and gray structure. Canonically I’ll want to make my engines red, darken the inner structure using either a dark gray or black, and add blues highlights to the inner structure.

I’ve only ever painted the panels of my tie fighter’s wings black. That’s the extent of my expertise.

Anyone have any tips on how to recreate the ssd as seen in film?

Or feel free to post bold new original paint jobs/ideas you have in mind. I think a hot rod red and gold iron man theme could be pretty sick.

If you want ISB-feel, I think dark prussian blue plates, anthracite central part and underside could be good

what could be good would be black with red piping, you wash red,paint the panels with black and details it with med grey.Or black/gold like the 70's Lotus racing cars
