Treat. Single model or unit upgrade?

By Podfrey, in Rules

If a unit includes a medi-droid, do you measure from the medi-droid to the nearest model in a friendly unit (as it is the medi-droid that has the Treat ability) or from any model in the medi-droid’s unit to the nearest model in another friendly unit (as the Treat ability is conferred on the whole unit because of the medi-droid)?

Thanks in advance for any help (and apologies if it’s been asked before)

From the med droid itself to the nearest model in the unit being treated

You measure from the closes mini of the med droid's unit (not the med droid mini). That is because "Treat X" is a card abbility that grants a free card action, and the RRG always refferences free card action to units, not minis.

sorry, yes, I usually just always place the med droid as the closest mini LOL

And it would be really thematic that it had to be measured from the med droid, but we have the rules that we have (and I assume it must be for a reason)

My daughter and I had this same question come up while playing the other day, but also one more to add, since it's labeled as a "free card action", it can be used once per round right?

My apologies for hijacking the topic.

Correct. Move is the only action you can take multiple times per round.

OK cool. Thank you.
