Fire Support and suppression

By Kirin, in Rules

There is no mention of suppression in the Fire Support rules (at least I didn't see it). Does suppression matter? Can a unit use Fire Support no matter how much suppression it has on? Does it forego the rally step?

With the rules as they are, in this case suppression doesn't matter. The check to see if a unit is suppressed or panicked is after its own rally step and in this case you skip its entire activation (included of course the rally step). So a unit may have enough suppression to be panicked, but it can contribute its Fire Support (given the conditions) and be safe from running from the battlefield that turn because after using the abbility it counts as activated.

This is also how the devs explicity played it in FFG live when demoing the new clone wars box set. They mentioned it was a great way to avoid panic
