LFP: Trials of the Jedi

By Von3679, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

I can do that date ok I think.

Srry, got exams in 2 days, so I’ll hv to delay the start abit to maybe the weekend. Will sort out the free gear soon.

I’ll give you guys info about the free gear tomorrow hopefully, as my tests r tmrw and tmrw only.

Alright, i’m back! I’ll look through the equpment list later to see what else i can add, but for now everyone has a training lightsaber and jedi concealing robes. And i’ll give everyone one free force power of their choice, to represent some jedi training. And do you all wish for me to send details for the masters? So you all can indicate your preference?

Work in progress, but I have most of the background in my head already. Mechanically a consular, but more a Seeker, really.

Looks good :)

I'm cooking up a Shien Specialist, but I won't be able to post until after work tomorrow if that's cool. I'm usually not a fan of starting PCs with a saber tree (seems to turn every problem into a nail when you have a glowing hammer) but I think the Padawan tree will make them pretty well rounded relatively. Also, Shadow and Sentry (my other Sentinel Specs I'd like to try) don't really seem to fit with a pre-dark time Jedi Padawan straight out of the temple. Maybe after their first few missions one of those trees will be a better fit.

Sure. I actually have a master who has the shadow spec, as I’m making her a policewoman kinda jedi. Maybe she will be paired with your padawan...? :)

I’m thinking of starting the campaign in maybe 2-3 days? How does that sound to everyone? I’ll update you all about the current scenario you all would start in in abit :)

@player3333902 Works for me!

Here's my Shien Expert, still a WIP. I'm considering dropping the Cunning(4) to boost Int or Ag to 3 and pick up Quickdraw and Parry from the Padawan tree. I like the idea of having one stat at 1 (for RP purposes) but a default soak of 1 is just too squishy.

Let me know what you all think!

Hmm. I can’t see the sheet, @oneeyedmatt87

I'm making my sheet now, though it's going a little slowly since I've never made a force-user.

Since everyone is still a jedi initiate, i’ll provide you all with a training lightsaber and a set of jedi robes.

Are the "Jedi robes the Concealing robes from the F&D core rules, or the Heavy robes from Rise of the Separatists ?

Oh, here's my character, so far.

Where can I find the heavy robes item? I don’t have rise of the seperatists, so is there a website i can get the pdf?

Check the two Rise of the separatists threads in the AoR Abe EotE forums (the latter of which is now locked).

@player3333902 , does the 1 free power replace the 2 mentioned in the intro (making only 1 power), or add to those two (giving three powers). If it's the second I'll have to remove enhance, so just want to check.

And I'll be happy to see the masters details.

Whoops. I completely forgot about that... ok stick with the 2 free force powers first. Either that, or you can choose to take 1 and take upgrades equal to 10xp for it for free.

The stats for Heavy Robes are as follows:

Defense 1, Soak 0, Price 150, Encumbrance 1, Hard points 0, Rarity 2.

They get the Defense from being so voluminous that they obscure the wearer's silhouette, and thus the vital areas of the target in question, therefore, making the target actually harder to hit.

Also, FYI, there is an option in the book for Jedi characters where they can take the 2500 Credit option and use it to get a lightsaber of any type. for free.

I think I'd rather not start with a lightsaber, something to work towards.

Everyone isn’t a padawan yet. You are all just jedi initiates. Jedi only get real lightsabers when they venture to ilum with their masters, which will happen in the story when we get to it, don’t worry :)

I think concealing robes will be better, as the padawans are not being suited up for combat. Their ship was just on a simple “field trip” in a way :)

once @btmaja finishes his character sheet, i’ll start the ic and ooc :) though please bear with me for the next week or two, as I have a camp then an overseas trip immediately after, both related to school.

Here are the master details. I’ll kind of describe then as a character, instead of how they are.

1. After his youth, this master has put himself in self imposed “exile”. Faced with constant discrimination and jeering from other jedi, he has decided to walk upon the path of redemption, dedicating himself to putting a stop to all evil, but in ways different from before.

2. As if born with a lightsaber in hand, this master has dedicated herself to the path of the saber. She is often seen in the temple, training or sparring with others. However, her love for the blade has caused her to be condemned by other jedi, who worry a fanatical obsession for the sword could lead down darker paths...

3. Dedicated to the meaning of law and order, the mention of this master’s name bring chills down a criminal’s spine. Known for always finding her quarry, she will never relent, till her target is behind bars.

4. Kind, peaceful, caring and charming is what every padawan who has been taught by this master describes him as. With a dedication to teaching, nurturing and guiding all jedi, this master is often seen in the temple gardens, meditating about the force, the meaning of life and much more. He is always willing to extend a helping hand, and the younglings in the temple love to go to him to play.

5. To the average person, they think this master is more bark than bute, flaunting his skills as he does. However, to jedi who know him, his bite is more than equal to his bark. This master has been known to speed around, prefering the wind in his face than the cool and calm temple air. Plus, if you have any problems with your lightsaber, he is the go to man.
