Well, it's been real, guys.
It's been good getting to speak with all of you, and I do appreciate FFG being up front about this, but I don't think there's any reason to continue to frustrate myself by coming here.
Deuces.

You'll be missed buddy.

FFG have stated that there is no product in development. Why do you need playtesters to break a legal agreement to tell you the same? And what is getting ridiculous?
24 minutes ago, NeverBetTheFett said:OK. At this point we need some playtesters to step up. This is getting ridiculous. Don't bullsh-it about NDAs because everyone knows they don't mean jack. First of all, they need to actually prove that it was you that violated the NDA, assuming they have the resources to even start investigating!?! Even if by some crazy luck they find out you violated their NDA, what would the consequences be? You can't play test one of their new upcoming *shi-t-ty games? We all know where this company is headed, so why care? Oh they'll sue you? Good luck with that FFG. You'd have to prove that the defendant cause you harm, i.e. lost sales.
So, I beg all of you who "know" playtesters. Have there been playtesting beyond Tyrants of Lothal? If the answer is no, than this is a dead game. If the answer is yes, then let's rejoice. Ewoks are coming. If the answer is "I can't say", then you're an as-shole.
I know playtesters from ALL of the other games that have never felt it was crucial to hide this top secret information. Hint, one game is getting two new ships from the battle of Jakku. I'm no cleric.
No one has been hiding this information. It's been relatively common knowledge that nothing has been in the playtesters hands since Lothal.
<-- Imperial Assault

Good enough for me. Game is dead.

Based on above response, i.e. game is dead, it's ridiculous that FFG won't say anything. Clearly nothing is in the pipeline, so the game is dead. A legal agreement? LOL! That's laughable. Apparently there will be nobody to know you broke it, based on their zero fuc-ks given to responding to us about this game.

NDAs aren't "meaningless". If you agree to not disclose something, then disclose it anyway, you are breaking your word and revealing yourself to be a fundamentally dishonest person (regardless of the chances of getting caught, or likely consequences if that should happen, which I'm not going to speculate on or argue about here). Most people aren't fundamentally dishonest - thankfully - and you might like to consider what it says about you that you think it would be such a non-issue to break an agreement that you would have committed to, in writing no less.
Anyone has the option to not sign an NDA, if they don't agree with it. They then won't get told whatever the NDA protects. Fair enough. To sign it anyway, intending only to break it - that's a very sad state of affairs.
Edited by BittermanAlso, concerning testers: Some that I know also test other FFG products, and I'm sure they don't want to willingly break their NDA and be kicked out of those experiences.

But they have. That's what this entire thread is discussing.

Campaign App is their one and only focus atm.
No new (paper/plastic) content aside from the App for at least a year. (maybe never)
"Official" IA skirmish seems to be a closed book.

I'm not one for online fights, but to claim an NDA with THIS company is enough to keep you quiet while they string you along is akin to saying, "well I was just following orders". Also, I picture the keystone cops coming to arrest you if you do, so I wouldn't worry so much.
Anyways, this forum is moot now. It will be sad to leave, but I'm tired of beating a dead horse. I expect I'll follow along with the project that some of you started, so maybe see you there. Unless you force me to sign an NDA and then I'll tell you to GFY.
Later boys. I officially retire.

I'm sorry, but comparing a hobby-related NDA to the feeble apologies of war criminals is not only grossly hyperbolic, but utterly out of place. The rhethoric here is becoming petty base. I'm convinced you can do better than that.

Counter-point: no, it's not. It's literally nothing whatsoever like that. Nothing remotely similar to that at all.
that Ewok is cruel if we dont get an Ewok expansion.
At least they have finally stated this. I have other FFG games (Runewars) that are "canceled" but they refuse to tell us.

I tried to get you all the answer we deserve although it wasn't the one we wanted.
@GoldSquadron we appreciate you getting this so we had an answer... whereas the past 6-9 months we didn't. Thanks.
News from Italy. On the SWIA FB page ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/assaltoimperiale.italia/permalink/2299525100323270/ ), AsmOPlay Italy replied to fans. I attempt a translation here, but I'm not a professional translator so this isn't a 100% correct and literal translation. Consider they are answering to several posts of people scared by weird and not very well defined rumors about FFG dropping translations and abandoning the game.
Hello guys! Few replies to your posts:
There's no will to abandon the game. We've always translated paper components on time for official releases and we'll keep doing it as soon as we'll get new content. As Filippo pointed out in the previous post, silence doesn't mean FFG isn't looking for a way to finally bring Yoda into Imperial Assault. 🤩
For what concerns kits for OP, we keep producing them and asking more than what stores pre-ordered, so that we are ready in case a new store or community wants to joing this game.
For what concerns the app, our initial plans were to release it years ago. We had delays because of workload (digital content has no deadlines, for this reason it has lower priority than paper unless mandatory for playing the game, like in Mansion of Madness or The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth mentioned by other posts above), also FFG didn't take into account gender and number (those don't exist in english language, but unfortunately they do in italian and other languages) and code was changed only a couple of months ago, forcing us to edit again what we had already translated. We're working on this and we've never said we don't translate the app. It's not priority right now, but we can't wait the time we'll ship the app finally translated in Italian 😎
Thanks as always to everyone for your patience and the passion you put into this game. 🚀

It's appreciated.
The answer isn't something we can control. I'm glad someone asked.

"I'm not one for online fights, but let me reference the Nuremburg defense in response to a tabletop game playtesting NDA."
Come on.
It might be the end of the line for IA. But looking a Descent, I'm not giving up all hope on the campaign side of things. for Descent, the last two expansions came out fairly quickly, two years after the previous one (though it has been three years now since they came out which is not so good). They have also had more App campaigns and paper campaigns (without new maps and minis). This year they got some new class decks (sort of like the imperial decks in IA, but for heroes), so they are still getting content. Hopefully the app will drive sales enough that FFG does the same sorts of things with IA.

Yeah I think there's hope for this game via the app and new campaign expansions. I wouldn't be surprised if the skirmish was dropped entirely and the game was converted to just a campaign board game. Less play testing and moving parts for them. It's a shame tho because the skirmish is a really good part of this game despite it's flaws (which could be easily fixed). If we are lucky maybe well get a cards only expansion pack to fix skirmish models, but i doubt it.
This game has everything it needs to continue thriving thanks to the free community based apps currently available; a gallery of art to choose from; fanmade/official sculpts offered elsewhere; and the existence of the IACP (for skirmish).
I am actually kind of glad that they chose to end with the Rebels TV show content, because I enjoyed that show. Some of the characters lived during the time period of the Galactic War, and those minis are not available elsewhere.
Sure it would have been nice to see it close with an Endor themed expansion or maybe just three more unit packs, but they "chose" to end with Lothal instead and that is just something we have to come to terms with. If you are unhappy, say your parting words and go. If you are content, stay. And if you are ambitious, share your creations. Imperial Assault is what you make of it from this point onward and trying to convince other people to join your cause (go, stay, create) is just going to bring everyone down to an unhappy state.

Like many players here, I collected every expansion. I'm now down to painting my last 10 minis. You haven't wasted your time. It's a great game and will continue to be a great game.
Legion killed Imperial Assault, there is nothing more to say.
Now the good news, is those that have IA models can use them in Legion. I mean they are both from FFG.
