If I'm using the fire support keyword from the clone troopers, and I fire support someone WITH an attack surge, would the clones dice, who don't have the attack surge, gain an attack surge for the attack? thanks in advance

won't have a clear answer till clones come out so you won't get a clear answer yet.

It would appear to be like the Chewie command card with Leia. The original unit shooting determines the surge, while the Fire Support unit is adding dice and any weapon rules to the attack pool.

Correct. The devs said in a recent interview that clone wars era stuff has less surge to hit/crit for that reason + to use the new surge token mechanic. It's also the origin of the Critical X key word.
