Rapid Reinforcements Question

By choassassin, in Rules

Based on the wording in the newest RRG, you may select 1 or 2 non-leader or non-operative trooper units to set aside until their token is pulled.

With that, can you use emplacement troopers, E-WEB/FD Turret, (supports) to be set aside?

If you can, why aren't more Rebel players trying to bid for the ability to place a turret on the field further than the normal deployment zone? Or likewise, Empire with the E-WEB?

Yup, you sure can! Because emplacement troopers are still considered troopers for all effects.

That is definitely a strategy you can use, and one that I personally have had good success with. The downside is that you can't reliably force Rapid Reinforcement, even if you win the bid. The chorus is "they're too turn-0 dependent." But I disagree. Go for it! I think both--the FD especially--are under-appreciated units.

@nashjaee Thank you. That was my understanding of the errata as well.
