Jyn's Rebellious and Clambering

By Alpha17, in Rules

A situation came up last night where Jyn's Rebellious command card was triggered by a Stormtrooper squad activating one story above her. Jyn was in base-to-base contact with the building when triggered, so the other player insisted she could clamber up the wall, be in base to base contact with the squad, and trigger Charge. My understanding was that clambering is distinctly different from a "move action" and thus wouldn't apply. Same reason why Scout-1 doesn't let you climb up walls or ladders, because it specifically grants a move action, not clambering.

After checking the rule book, we didn't find anything to back me up, so we played it out as if she could clamber up the wall, and then immediately go into melee.

Did we play it right? Or was my initial idea correct? I would love to know for future reference.

I would say yes, you can clamber since the command card grants her a move ACTION. The difference being that things like Scout or NTFS just grant a move.

You played it right as Rebellious lets Jyn perform a move action:

RRG page 42, under MOVEMENT:
"When a unit performs a move action , it performs a standard move, reverse, pivot, climb, or clamber. "

You would've been right if Rebellious would let Jyn perform a standard move instead of a move action for example.
