Campaign Mode Lost in Time and Space

By thinkingkat, in General Discussion

Here’s the scenario; we finished the final mystery and won the first game of the campaign. One of the characters was lost in time and space at this time.

The question I have is; will that character continue on into the next game, or are they considered dead/nonexistent?

I know story wise, it would be great to start the game with the characters still lost in time and space.

I do not have the rules to give you a official answer.

The best that I was able to find in the rules was the in the Mask expansion rules. On page 7, under the Campaign Rules there is nothing specific that covers Lost in Time and space. The last paragraph at the bottom says 'All other components and effects are reset between games'. This is the only thing that seems to cover this ruling specifically. I still like Zedwardson's idea from a story standpoint.

yeah the only thing they explicitly say is that Dark Pacts and Promises of Power are carried over to the next game. Everything else resets. So technically they wouldn't be LiTaS, but I'm in favour of that happening too - honestly the campaign mode needs an overhaul big time and might as well start house ruling the way you really want it.

I kind of like the idea that the character moves on while still lost in time and space. My friend argues that because the ancient one was destroyed, along with the power that sent that investigator to be LITAS, that they are considered dead.

My opinion is that since ANY Ancient One has the power to send someone LITAS that the investigator technically could be brought back. They’re not dead, they just lost lol.

Like Barb in Stranger Things...before she got dead.

Up to this point I've managed to avoid Stranger Things spoilers by not visiting any corner of the internet related to that series. At least it doesn't sound like a major plotpoint.

To be fair, it’s a pretty well known fact about the show. It’s not too bad of a spoiler. I apologize anyways.

You should probably watch the show 😛

I sure would like to but there's quite a lot of good shows and not much free time in my schedule.
I estimate that I will find time for this one around 2025.
