Base modification?

By irav222, in Rules

I mounted my speeder bikes with an acrylic rod with a ball bearing to make it pose able. I did measure out the stock base and size the rid with bearing to the same size and marked the front facing firing arc. Would this be a problem in organised play?

Depends on each and every single individual TO is the real answer.

My answer: I hope not, being as that I can't even paint my notched bases without making it impossible to fit a movement tool in them. At that level of finagling, I'd just shrug it off as part of tabletop gaming as opposed to the precision of boardgames.

Similarly, I'm considering cutting a couple centimeters off the flying stand of my second T-47 so that that the two of them together have a nice layered effect. If anyone complains about that my attitude would be "if I take two snowspeeders to a tournament and you still lose it's not my fault for tweaking a base".

i know i'm late to this response but the shaving of the t47 shouldn't be a problem if FFG doesn't care about boba fett being but on the base, they have come out and say you can make changes like that and removing the clear peg on boba is only about 1/2" off. but as you stated it comes down to the TO at the time. always check with them with all modifications.

That modification is allowed according to FFG so long as the miniature height is " not significantly altered " a value determined by the TO. At this scale 1/2" is significant in my opinion on an infantry model, as it is a large fraction of the models overall height. So if you want to remove the peg on Boba, replacing it with rocks is probably the safest course of action.

For the T-47s there might be more leeway since the percentage change would be less. Again, depends on the TO.

It's not you, the movement tools are such a tight fit that painting the base makes it too tight :) File down the sides of the movement tools slightly at the ends, they will fit in easier.
