Can you explain how the card works. You roll a dice pool, but how does the outcome of that roll work?
Perhaps give an example of play using this card.
Interresting idea though.
Example:
On his initiative Max declares he is using the 'Full Defence' card. This is his 'action' that turn. He can perform manoeuvres, use reaction cards etc.
Max is then subject to a melee attack by Fred. Max uses his Parry Card.
Fred rolls his normal Melee Attack pool (1d as normal), including any misfortune dice from Max's Defence and enviromental factors as determined by the GM. As Max is using his Parry (with Melee trained) 2 more misfortune dice are added.
Max rolls his Melee Attack pool (1d).
As Fred is the active side, his result is modified by the inverse of Max's. This result is that applied to the Action card Fred used.
E.g.
Max rolls: 2 successes, 2 Boons
Fred Rolls: 3 successes, 1 Bane
Fred's Modified Result is: 1 success. 3 Banes
So it's really a more 'active defense' than the 3 active defense actions we have (block/parry/dodge)? You're 'actively' defending yourself with a roll rather than just adding dice to the opponent's pool?

Exactly. You are foregoing any attack and focusing on dodging, parrying and/or blocking. You still use the dodge/parry/block cards, but you do a lot better with them.
You can't use a defence card you don't have and recharge on the cards still applies.
