Detonate X and Attack Action

By JediPartisan, in Rules

Can a unit Detonate and Attack in the same round/activation?

So if a unit with Detonate, Aims then fires, can they use that action to also Detonate during their activation?

Detonate and Attack are two different actions, and though you do “attack” with the charge, the unit isn’t arguably doing the attack.

I think the two are separate actions and can be done in the same activation, but I haven’t seen anyone actually do that, and I’m not sure why, cause it would give you two attacks.

Or is detonating considered an attack and if a unit has Detonated, they can’t attack during their activation?

You can do both during your activation. You wouldn't be able to do it if Detonate clarified that it is treated as an attack action like "Lightsaber Throw" does for example.

Also, as Detonate can be done after an action (and not only an enemy action), you can attack and detonate right after

Thanks.

I thought it was ok, at least as the rules are now, but I still haven’t seen anyone do that and I’ve watched a LOT of games.
