Warlords of the K'Narr Sector - rules and IC conversation

By LTD, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

This is the map.

I have fleets from four players - waiting on two.

@Lord Preyer @Madaghmire

I'm setting up a google spreadsheet for each player. When you get your link, check that you can edit the sheet, but please don't change anything.

We will do most of our orders, etc, through the spreadsheets. When the time comes, I will ask each player to copy their turn x report, move their ships about, spend credits, etc, and then paste the updated sheet below the previous one - so I can see what has moved and where, etc. This way the players do the bulk of the donkey work, and I just do the auditing to make sure no one cheats, makes errors, etc.

Then I will see what interactions have occurred, roll dice, etc.

Players who have handed in fleets may now begin to bluster, threaten, deal, etc. in this thread. Please do not send each other Private Messages or discuss this game outside of this thread.

Thanks!

Sorry LTD! I can handle this in the morning if that’s ok?

Well, if you want to give your opponents the impression that you need your sleep, that’s fine with me.

But also, no worries.

I think Im best served taking mod/observers on the first one and seeing how its played if there's gonna be such a document running?

Commitments to mafia and trying to get back into vassal is sucking up all my time at the moment.

There will also be an adjustment for force disparity. Where equal force sizes (in points value of s hips and squadrons) meet, there is no adjustment. But for every 10% difference, the superior side gains a +1 or -1 in their favour. For Example: if an attacking force of 400 points encounters a defending force of 300 points, the attacker gains a +1 to the die roll (57% to 43%). If the defender has 600 points and the attacker has 100, the defender gains a -7 to the roll (85% to 15 %).

To clarify this: What is the 10% in relation to? For 400 vs 300, it’s either a 33% difference or a 25% difference, so why +1? Wouldn’t that be the case for a 330 vs 300 (or possibly a 333 vs 300?)

And lower rolls mean worse results for the defender, so isn’t -7 a serious handicap?

On an unrelated note, prepare for the end of whatever crumbling, inept form of government you kowtow to. For His Glorious Eminence Fleet Lord J. Wookiee I brings unity to all (by virtue of bringing destruction to those not under his banner.) You have 12 hours to leave the system, swear undying allegiance to the Wook, or face figurative and literal disarmament. So sayeth Lord Wookiee.

@LTD I do apologise but I have to drop out. This looks like a wonderful game that you have given serious thought to and should be respectfully treated by players in return. I don’t think I can give it the kind of time it deserves over the next few weeks. I should very much like to be considered for the next game please and thank you again for your efforts. Sorry also again for dropping out late.

So I think he means 10% of the total forces involved I e.

400 vs 300 equals 700 total forces so the difference is 100 or 14% which would give a +1 for the Attacker

Ok - with @Lord Preyer dropping, I will give @Madaghmire one more ping and 24 hours to reply. If no response we will go with four players, though I might shrink/change the map a little bit / change some starting locations to make it more even.

Unless there are folks observing who would like to join?

Ok, I've given Madaghmire a full 24 hours, multiple pings, and a PM. No response. Hope all is well for Madaghmire irl.

Let's get the game started with the four players we have. I will make some map modifications to adjust for four players, post that here, and start the game in an hour or so.

So just to clarify a few things, will there be AI occupation forces on neutral planets or something like that?

Will we be able to see the other players planets or do we need to scout them? If we need to scout them will such thing as Prob driods exist?

Also will we be able to tell a planets ic and credits before we colonise/conquer it?

This game is now live.

I have updated google sheets with the new map, and changed some starting locations.

Please check your sheets and submit your orders. Let's try and get a few turns done quite quickly so we have something to build from.

When you've submitted your orders, send me a PM to let me know. I'll process and we'll move on.

There will be garrisons on some planets, not all.

You will not know much about other players' planets. You will get a report at the start of each turn indicating where jumps occurred across the sector (hyperspace jumps leave an etheric "boom" that can be tracked across the vast distances of space).

There are no probe droids - you will need to scout in force.

You will know what forces defend a planet before you decide to invade.

Also @LTD can I get those clarifications real quick? NM answered
