Moralo + Emon + Silliness

By Cuz05, in X-Wing Squad Lists

= I really have no idea.

YV-666 Light Freighter - •Moralo Eval - 93
•Moralo Eval - Criminal Mastermind (72)
Intimidation (3)
•Cikatro Vizago (2)
•Jabba the Hutt (8)
Feedback Array (4)
Stealth Device (4)

Firespray -class Patrol Craft - •Emon Azzameen - 107
•Emon Azzameen - Shipping Magnate (76)
Saturation Salvo (6)
Cluster Missiles (5)
•Cad Bane (4)
Proton Bombs (5)
•Cloaking Device (5)
Andrasta (6)

Total: 200/200

Honestly, the shenanigans are impossible to visualise but the theory craft has amused me greatly.

Set up to joust. Entering pseudo combat with 4 defence dice plus a reinforce each. But not shooting, because that's just boring.

Moralo chucks himself off the table and reemerges behind. Flies straight into them, still cloaked maybe. Feedbacks and Intimidates.

Emon, after a 3 hard away to (not) engage, Cybernetics, decloaks, lobs a bomb up the table, boosts and talon rolls behind, then TLs and chucks Clusters with Salvo.

Then we snowplow through, I guess.

Obviously not aiming to compete with it, just being casually daft. But does it even make any sense? At all?

Probably not. But that's hardly the point.

Yeah, not sure what you are exactly trying to accomplish, but I have thought of pairing Emon and Moralo for some turn 1 shenanigans.

Moralo Eval (72)
Fearless (3)
Tobias Beckett (2)
L3-37 (4)
Lando Calrissian (8)
Contraband Cybernetics (5)
Shield Upgrade (4)

Emon Azzameen (76)
Trick Shot (1)
Boba Fett (4)
Proximity Mines (6)
Rigged Cargo Chute (4)
Marauder (3)
Skilled Bombardier (2)

Total: 194

You can season the upgrades to taste, but the main trick here is the Boba + Beckett combo. You need to make sure you place most of the rocks closer to the middle or nearer to your board edge. That gives you more space to put a rock to setup the ambush. You put Marolo facing a board edge, ready to fly off. Then you place a rock right in front of whatever enemy ship you want to attack first. Then you place Emon on that rock butt facing the enemy ships. First turn he can drop a 4 straight (that's where Bombardier comes in handy) proximity mine right in their lap. Then dial a maneuver to get you right behind the rock. Your opponent has two options. Either turn and face Eval coming into their flank or pursue Emon who will drop another mind or debris right at them.

Its not competitive at all, but looks like it could be fun. It forces your opponent into tough decisions right at the start of the game.

I am also not sure on that part :D

Hijinks mainly.

Liking your version a lot.

Emon can drop a bomb and decloak but can’t decloak and then drop a bomb.

This list looks like a lot of fun though. I am definitely keen to try Emon on the table some more.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed this. Interesting one, I presume it's simply to limit the movement before dropping. Too much shenanigans with a launch, I suspect.

I posted a very similar list to this back on September 24th.

Since I posted the list I have swapped out the Proton Bombs for Seismic Charges, the Stealth Devices for Shield Upgrades, and I added Tobias Beckett to Moralo.

I agree that it is not good competitively. A good tournament veteran can read the strategy from the beginning and plan around it. Playing it for fun with friends who aren't tournament players ... this list is quite Scummy and fun.
