During a movement, if the movement tool (or part of the base during the movement) is outside the battlefield BUT the final position of the unit leader is inside the battlefield, is it destroyed?
Thanks dudes!

In that case it is not destroyed.
This is the only condition for a unit to leave the battlefield:
RRG page 35:
"If at any time a unit leader
ends its movement
with any part of its base outside of the battlefield, that unit is defeated."

It is destroyed per the movement rules on Page 38:
QuoteIf a unit leader performs a move that causes any part of its base to leave the battlefield, that unit is destroyed.

If in the "Leaving the battlefield" rules it only mentions "ends its movement" I'd go with only that and so understanding that for the line you quoted, "performs a move" reffers to where the unit leaders ends up rather than wheather he leaves the battlefield in any part along the path of the maneuver tool.
Although I think that maybe you're right, but as the rules are, that doesn't convince me to play that way unless it is clarified.

If the "ends the movement" was the intended interpretation, then the bullet in "Movement" should read "If a unit leader ends it's movement," however since the base is supposed to be moved along the movement tool in executing a move, part of the base can leave the battlefield during the move as well as at the end.
An email probably wouldn't go amiss, especially since they have surprised us in the past (such as horizontal distance measuring for shooting).
Page 38 is what confused us. But I think that page 35 makes it clear, it should END outside.
"leaving the battlefield" is defined as "ending the movement outside the battlefield". so no, you are not defeated if the movement tool is outside the battlefield.

Leaving the Battlefield will be updated with the following line:
"While performing a standard move, as a unit leader moves along a movement tool, if at any point the unit leader's base is outside of the battlefield, that unit is defeated." Also: "A unit cannot voluntarily leave the battlefield. • When a player performs a move with an opponent’s unit, that unit cannot leave the battlefield."
What does "will be updated" mean? In some future rules update? Is that confirmed?
Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks for the clarification!
It is confirmed, you can find it as "Upcoming Star Wars: Legion Rules Refference" in the FFG's Legion site:

Ah. Thank you. Yes, it has been updated in rules version 1.2.
