Will Sequel Trilogy Ever make it to this game.

By Marshallmanna, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Force Awakens came out 3 years ago and I still don't have a mini Kylo Ren to play with.

well i hated Force Awakens but i'll buy FA themed IA expansion in no time.

Because thats IA.

And finaly i will be able to create my own side narratives to humiliate that Buckethead.

Ps:

GIA

That sounds like something to celebrate to me. I personally want nothing to do with this "Kelvin-esque" Star Wars, so-called, trilogy.

Before they release new trilogy staff I would expect some more waves related to the OT, such as Endor, more Rebels staff, more bounty hunters (Zuckuss and 4-Lom) and of course several fixes to compensate old figures (Boba Fett).

If they finally release Rey and Kylo figures I guess I'll play them as long as they are competitive, and they definetely will.

It unfortunately made it to the screen. We should stop it as soon as possible...

hope not

I hope not.

If the new trilogy stuff will leak into IA, that will be the end for me. The new trilogy is not Star Wars, it is a Disney mutant.

I would like to see Rogue One though.

My bet: big box Rogue One, small box Endor and then... boom... Second Edition based on Sequel Trilogy

Don't mind the haters, @Marshallmanna , haters will always hate. The ST is GREAT Star Wars and I'm sure FFG are plotting ways to cash in on that rich era (assuming their license covers the new stuff). But it is hard to move into the ST with IA as it is, since few of the current figures will be relevant for that time period. I believe it is more likely, as @Shwarzz indicates, that the ST will be the target of a IA 2nd edition, or possibly a different game all together. But in short, unless FFG aren't allowed to do products in the ST period, you'll eventually get a Kylo Ren mini to play with :D Personally, I'm more interested in Rey, so perhaps we should duel it out? ;)

They’ve released plenty of sequel trilogy stuff for X-wing, so I doubt that’s an issue... unless you meant it could be something related more on the Hasbro side of the things.

Honestly I'd be surprised (and delighted) if we got anything new at all that wasn't app content, though that is welcome too.

It would be cool if they released Rey and Kylo as skirmish only packs in a stand alone wave, and maybe some Guavian Death Gang for the mercenaries.

Sequel Trilogy just isn't fleshed out nearly enough for this quite yet.

It's easy to throw a random ship in for X-Wing, but outside of new stormtroopers and some heroes, what could we really go with?

Hopefully the Resistance show builds this up more, but I don't see this happening at all until EpIX comes out. Especially because of how restrictive the timeline is so far in the ST, given how TFA-TLJ is likely less than a week of time in total.

I would definitely buy some ST stuff. Absolutely. The first two movies had some problems but overall I really liked them. And it's more Star Wars stuff! I don't get all the hate. The OT has flaws too (as does [obviously] the PT). I'm excited for IX, the Mandalorian show, and pretty much anything new they release (not so much the books), even the RJ trilogy. Not as excited for SW: Resistance so far (for episodes in), but I'm giving it a chance because I didn't really like SW: Rebels at first either and it grew on me (plus it's fun to watch with my kids).

I would love an ST expansion/2nd edition or something but I agree that it needs to be fleshed out a bit more... But then again Boba Fett got less speaking lines than a lot of the minor Characters in the ST, so maybe it's fine.

Not as interested in PT stuff but I'd probably still buy it.

Counterpoint: no it's not.

All movies have problems, but there are problems, and then there are films which are poorly paced, agenda driven, lore breaking, plot hole cratered, groan inducing, internally inconsistent messes like the Nu Trilogy. People keep saying "I don't get the hate." Well, I don't get the love. They are bad movies. Not just bad Star Wars movies. The second one being orders of magnitude worse than the first. If it didn't have Star Wars stamped on the box, it would be about as popular as Jupiter Ascending, with similar critical acclaim. And, as bad Jupiter Ascending was, in a Clockwork Orange scenario, I'd much rather be tortured by it than TLJ. The purposefully campy silliness that was the 1980 Flash Gordon was a better, more cohesive, film than The Last Jedi. At least Flash Gordon didn't waste Max Von Sydow like TFA did. Ming was a superior villain to Ren, Snoke, and Hux , whose combined villainy quotient wouldn't surpass Lt. Harris in Police Academy on a chart of movie antagonists. Well, to paraphrase Han Solo, "...sorry about the rant."

I cant imagine there being a huge appetite for new trilogy stuff even among actual SW, wargaming fans.

Oooo...quick I want general Hux leading my army. Said nobody ever.

Will Luke cost minus points(being a man and all?)

Will the great bad guy Ren have to roll a dice before his turn to decide if he is sulking and light/dark?

Will that Commander Phasma have worse stats than a normal storm trooper?

This is Poe Dameran, I am on hold for general hugs. HAHAHAHAH Compare that to the openings of other star wars films.

Just what the **** were they thinking?

Please, this is all off topic. I'd suggest haters go hate somewhere else on the internet; it's not like there's a shortage of places to share hatred online. Let's not allow this otherwise great community to descend into the toxic cesspool that is most of fandom these days. We've all seen countless websites collapse into flame wars and malice, so let's stay on target here, all right?

Well, at least by describing everyone you disagree with as unwelcome "haters" and dismissing their reasoned concerns as "hatred", you're doing your bit to calm the waters and clean up the cesspool. We can all learn from that positive example.

I love Star Wars, I liked TFA, I loved R1, I enjoyed Solo.

I realise some people cant help but call everyone 'haters' but im just not a hater. The problem is TLJ in terms of star Wars was just absolute garbage and was so out of sync with other SW films it was crazy to go with it.

People arnt a hater just because they have a negative opinion on something. You cant just dismiss what is obviously a lot of peoples opinion over TLJ.

Good point. So let's stop doing these things now, yes?

I try not to be toxic, and I've tried to keep my critical thoughts about The Last Jedi in check, but like Bitterman said, I'm sick of being referred to as a 'hater' a word devoid of any real meaning, because i don't genuflect to everything labeled Star Wars. Since 1977 have I watched Star Wars, my own council will I keep, on what I am to like. But, stay on topic? O.k. Here is a blurb from the official product page: " Imperial Assault puts you in the midst of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. " So, to stay on topic, can we stop having threads asking for things from the ST or the PT since, clearly, the game does not take place between the "Resistance" and "First Order" or between the "Republic" and the "Separatists." I suggest, since we like to tell people "go somewhere else on the internet;" that ya'll head over to the Destiny forums for your sequel trilogy fix.

I mean, we're all adults here.

Can we have a single thread about the Sequel Trilogy that doesn't end with someone bringing in their wholly unoriginal take on why they don't like it?

Like, good lord, we've heard it all before. Move on.

I agree that it is very annoying to be called a hater (or similar) without cause. That said, taking the opportunity to lay on hate in a topic not made for such is a pretty 'hater' thing to do.

I'm eager to see what IA will do with the ST if they ever get that far :D (Or with more PT stuff for that matter, or anthology films and TV shows; In short, more IA please! :D ).
