I am having a bear of a time finding any of the many threads that laid out the appropriate conversion rate for WH2 to WH3 money.

Anyone help me out?

Really? Nobody remembers/has seen the thread talking about how to make the 2e money system fit 3e?

Playing with quite an experienced and enthusiastic group we quickly ran in to the horse issue, and a lot of other equipment issues. Our brilliant GM had at that time by empiric means established that the prices in the 3ed and 2ed is correlated as follows:

the solution seems pretty reasonable, a riding horse according to this method is 2gc85s. the only posts i have read about money conversion were all attempts to determine the price of horses so if this does not satisfy just look up every horse thread.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'd forgotten most of the chatter was in the horse threads. I'll wander through them, but I'm happy with just a conversion rate to be honest.

I just divide 2e silver prices by 2 to get the equivalent price in 3e silver, and divide 2e gold prices by 10 to get the equivalent in 3e gold. Basically, I'm assuming 2e brass = 3e brass, and all that changed is exchange rate for the higher coinage.

It's not an exact match, and the prices themselves between the two versions have a very low correlation, so I've opted for ease of conversion.

not about cash, but still about conversion... I run Barony of the Damned under V3, and there are some Major NPC I would like to convert from V2 to V3. I don't want a full conversion, but still getting the right characteristics.

As we are now on a 6 point scale, I divide the whole thing by 100/6= 17. If some of you tried to convert V2 to V3, are you doing that way ?

Yet, I haven't compared a lot of the bestiary from the 2 editions... (but enough to double my V3 troll's Wound Points)

And how would you translate WHF1 money to WHF3?

Do WHF2 and WHF1 use the same system for money?

i just took a quick look at some of the prices in 1st and 2ed. i don't have a lot of 1st ed stuff anyway, but here are the prices of a few random things from both core rulebooks.

just from a quick look 2ed seems to have just tweaked prices without any radical changes and generally made things less expensive. i have a lot of 2ed books but i just did not get to play it very much and i am certain there are many other people out there better qualified to compare the two. hopefully, this will help until a better explanation comes along.
