Interesting discussion came up last night because of Esteemed Leader and Pierce. Commando Sniper shot Veers. Veers took the suppression and passed the hit off to a Stormtrooper via Esteemed Leader.
Esteemed Leader Says:
QuoteWhile you are defending, each friendly Corps Trooper Unit at Range 1 gains Guardian 1 (While a Friendly unit at range 1 is defending against a ranged attack, you may cancel up to 1 *hit* result. For each result canceled, roll 1 of your defense dice. Convert surges, then suffer 1 wound for each blank result.)
Now... The Commando Sniper has Pierce 1. The way we read the Esteemed Leader card, that doesn't mean anything and it wasted. According to the card, the hit is canceled on Veers and a normal hit is applied to the Stormtrooper to save.
Do you guys agree with that interpretation of Esteemed Leader? That passing the hit off to a Corp troop negates the Pierce abilities of the attack?
