Revenge of the Droids - Jodo Cast Legion Videos

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Legion

All over the internet, I keep seeing these beautiful SW:L tables... with unpainted armies :( Defeats the purpose.

Edit: Don't get me wrong the table is amazing and the video is good. But if someone knows their army is going to be in a video, it's really worth it to at least get it to a "paint by numbers" standard, or base your force selection on what painted units you already have or can borrow.

New Legion video is up. Not gameplay but a review this time.

Hope some of you can swing by our stream tomorrow!

They are releasing stuff so fast. It’s hard to keep up when you work full time, family, church, school full time. I say that goes for most players. 40k has been out forever. Give it some time.

this my table at home. Just now playing with my commandos, emplacements, boba, and Han. I haven’t played with with palp, Wookiee’s and guards. It’s tough keeping up with the game changing monthly as new units come out and change things. Now I have to paint specialist. LOL.

i see most players spend more time playing than painting. That is the true state of the game imho.

Nice looking table!

I've definitely spent more time painting and making terrain than playing. Now that I have a bunch of stuff done (enough for two full armies if I wanted) I only put new units on the board if they are painted.

The team got the trophy! :D

GOTY...does that mean if I buy it now it comes with all the expansions included?

😜

No but I can send you a little sticker to slap on the box that says "some podcast thinks this game is great!"

More Legion videos soon. I'm going to be at worlds so I'm making videos of my practice games and will do video of my experience at worlds.

What's the Star Wars Lego on the calendar? Is that a game you're playing (wii or xbox, etc) ?

Is this the outfit from AZ? I used to love the Imperial Assault content.

That calendar is from our Extra Life marathon in 2018. So that's pretty old.

I am in Arizona, though us on the podcast are sort of all over. Haven't given up on Imperial Assault videos but have slowed down on that lately.

Thanks for the video, it was pretty cool to watch!

Seems like you need something able to quickly close distance and dispatch the supporting units (snipers and mortars).

ie Tauntauns, AT-RTs, X-34, or Airspeeders.

Anything able to fulfill the cavalry role really.

It’s not clear from the camera angle used why you didn’t traverse the long side of the map, to flank the imperials on their left. Given that all the shoretroopers were just encamped on the bottom right, and there was basically nothing except Bossk to protect the snipers/mortars from the top side of the board.

Thanks! In the past I've gotten by without that sort of cavalry role but yeah I really felt it that game. Might look into adding Taun Tauns in the future.

I guess I didn't go up that side because I knew I needed that box in the middle. And it seemed really clear that Bossk, both snipers, and all three mortars would easily be able to knock down anything I sent up the back as there wasn't really any cover back that way.

The mortars aren’t able to fire at range 2 though; anyone charging up that flank should be too close for them to fight back at that point, and the sniper fire is paltry. Really, you’d just need enough to overcome Bossk.

Wookies might be pretty ideal, able to shrug off most suppression, and present a clear and present danger to Bossk, snipers, and mortars.

I have two more videos currently in the editing mines of Kessel, both of which I'm running similar lists to what I have been running. Though one is vs droids, and the other is vs clones.

I'm thinking I need to branch out more mix it up a bit, so i'm currently looking at the three lists as potential options to try out.

Which of these three lists would you prefer I play in the next video I record?

What about sticking R2 in a naked landspeeder solely for zooming into the enemy deployment zone? 🤔 Would need the right terrain, of course.

Apparently R2/Landspeeder is a strategy people use. Just gotta hold the speeder back until the second to last or last round and then scoot it in.

Feels super gimmicky and gamey to me so even if it works it's not my style and not something i'm super interested in trying out.

Pretty sure I'm going to go with one of these two lists next .

And by next I mean like a few videos from now since I already have a couple recorded and being edited that use different lists :P

Living the Breakthrough Dream?

I suspect that this plan breaks down in the face of opposing heavies though. (Given that you’d be telegraphing the plan quite heavily).
