That feels like a moderately significant thing, and something I'll definitely be interested to see given that he's getting what may be a meaningful storyline of his own after A Call For Diplomacy .
It is a call back to the previous canon where Doji Hoturi's wife was a Foxwife who had taken the identity of a Kakita Artisan before their marriage. They have obvioulsy gone with it here as well.

Since he doesn't have any other invocations and is described in his write up as a Courtier seems unlikely.
There is also his ability to speak to animals that he conceals and that they specifically call him out as a shapeshifter in his description.
