The Legion Outpost Blog

By Outpost Painter, in Painting

Hi there,

Just wanted to say hello here and browse all the interesting threads around here. I won't just be lurking. I'll keep you up to date with my Legion progress as well.

I just bought the first boxes and started working on them. I haven't painted for a year so I felt a bit rusty and started with some simple things to get into the painting habit again. This I what I did so far.

More pictures and articles can be found on my blog page which you can find here: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/

On my blog I'll be doing Painting gallery's, hobby tutorials, battle reports, strategy guides and reviews. The first ones are up now.

First are my range rulers and barricades for practise my Paint-Fu

I really like your barricades. Especially like the way you made the wear on them uniform without truly looking uniform. Nice work on your movement tools as well.

Your barriers and movement tools look fantastic!

There are a couple of new updates on my blog. The latest is my Star Wars Jungle terrain TUTORIAL. You can find it here: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2018/09/jungle-terrain-tutorial.html

But of course I'm not gonna leave without showing you a teaser or two. make sure to check out the blog for instructions and loads of pictures.

Slowly the painted models add up. I have some rebel units done now and some more in the last stages of painting on my desk.

Every army needs an inspiring leader and Luke Skywalker is just that. I started a bit later I started a little bit later with Legion but I'm happy can start fielding him now. From the battle reports I 've been watching I reckon he is quite a wrecking ball. More pictures of my painted models on my blog: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2018/10/luke-skywalker-painted.html

Han+Solo+1.png

One of the most loved characters from the movies, Han Solo is now finished. I know a lot of people don't particularly like this sculpt but I think it's ok. Want to see more of my models or why my Solo is wearing the classic blue with the Corellian blood red striped trousers? You find out on my blog:

Happy new Legion year everybody!!

My new years resolution is to post more pictures this year because I have been slacking lately. sorry for that but there's some new content on my blog. you can find it here: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/01/rebel-fleet-troopers-painted.html

Have a look around for some new projects and battle reports on my blog.

In the meantime have a look at the Fleet Troopers I painted a little while ago.

Very nice stuff, subtle shades and colors... nice job!

One of the most debated unit's in the game undoubtedly is the T-47 airspeeder. It's high point cost, average damage output and the fact it dies fairly quickly has many players on the internet say you shouldn't use one in a competitive list. Sadly I haven't used mine in any games yet because I always put my points in other units. Nevertheless, I had great fun painting mine and surely I will use it in a game one day.

Have a look at my blog for more pictures and info: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/01/t-47-airspeeder-painted.html

really nice paint job you got there on this T-47!

Very nice! The minis look great, and I love the weathering effects on some of the terrain!

I've been to my second tournament last week. It was the alliance open in the Amsterdam Airport Hotel. Great venue. Read all about is and make sure to check out the pictures of the gaming tables. One of the tables we played on was mine. Seeing other people enjoy playing on a table with my scenery was really special to me:

I haven't shared my AT-RT's here yet. I finished them some time ago. I bought to core box sets so I also have two AT-RT's. they really are the workhorse of my army and I field them regurarly. Because I have two and they have the same pose I did some minor converting. A headswap and changed the angle of the arm. Different paint scheme for the pilots and they are done. More pictures and some insights how to use them in games on my blog: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/01/rebel-at-rt-painted.html

Here are some pictures of one of my Legion tables. This is the Liquid Kyber Refinery where Kyber Crystals are processed to liquid form to fuel a Death Star. I know it's not really canon but I already had all of these terrain pieces so I wanted to pull them all together for this table. Most of the terrain pieces are by Micro Art Studio but the Toxic Kyber Basins are scratch made by me.

Sounds like you had a great time. Congrats on the best Painted award. And thanks for the write up.

I have finished painting the X-34 Landspeeder I bought last month. It was a bblast painting it up. I used an airbrush for the speeder and painted up the figures by hand. The two at the back are sooo cool. Best model so far FFG!

I have a lot of pictures of this and other models on my blog, make sure to check it out: https://legion-outpost.blogspot.com/2019/06/x-34-landspeeder-painted.html
