Adjusting The Movement Tool.

By Crawfskeezen, in Rules

When moving with a vehicle, after the movement tool is locked into the notches on the unit's base are you allowed to readjust the direction that the tool points?

For example: A T-47 base won't fit into a particular space for its compulsory move in one position, but it would in a second. You place the tool to point it in the direction of the space that it won't fit into and see that it won't fit. Can you then adjust the tool to make the model move into the second position where it would fit?

Under movement, page 37:

Step 1, choose the movement tool you're using.

Step 2, place the movement tool against the unit's base.

Step 3, adjust the movement tool as you desire.

It's not like Armada, where the tool has to be pre-positioned to the angle you want.

Yea. I read the RRG and that's what I thought too.

Now what if you place the tool and adjust then move the model and see it won't fit. Can you further adjust the tool then place the model?

IF you have some way to mark the starting position of the vehicle model, you can do all the tries you want.

While moving a mini along a path created by a movement tool, if the base of the mini is impeded by an object, that mini must stop its movement prematurely unless the mini can legally move through, over, or on top of the obstructing object. (pg 38)

If you move the model and it can't fit, it stops prematurely.

Depends on who you're playing with - in my friendly games, we do this. By a strict reading of the rules, as svelok said, once you start moving along the movement tool you're in that step and it has to step prematurely if it won't fit.

This is not supported by the rules.

2 questions:

1- May I pick one movement tool, check if that movement will fit (for example, when moving a leader around a corner), and then choosing another tool?

2- With vehicles with arcs: May I choose the movement tool, lay it on the play area, move the vehicle to the front end, THEN adjust the tool (to aim with the arcs)

Thank you very much.
