Guys, this whole discussion is moot until we know the trolleys point costs.
Has to cost more than the ffg boat right?
It only costs your soul...
Usually you have some input into whether the trolley steamrolls your ace or your miniswarm. It's only when you lose that ability to influence the state of the track that the trolley becomes a npe. However, unlike a cross country train, the trolley doesn't have a cattle catcher and will likely take collateral damage and possibly even derail if aiming for the swarm. Though, as points fortresses have been somewhat negated by half point scoring, it may be best to ditch the trolley and send a few hand carts that can support each other against multiple enemies on the track instead.
The appearance of multiple targets sitting helpless could also be a clever ruse. They may be waiting to spring a trap. It may be prudent to sweep for mines between your positions prior to rushing headlong at the obvious target. Proximity mines were nerfed, to my dismay, but should still weigh on my enemy's mind as I obstruct attack lanes.

And what YOU fail to realize, is the my ship is towing mines!

Well, seeing as it’s a trolley even FFG couldn’t forget to add crew slots. I’m predicting 3 crew slots. Can anyone say Jabba + Cikatro?
Cloaking device for the approach, Jabba makes sure it doesn’t fail, then turn it in to deamans switch for the surprise boom!

This isn't a scum trolley, I don't know why people keep getting that idea. Clearly, looking at the numbers, trolleys are used by good, loyal, Imperial, Citizens. No better way for Palpatine to get to work.

IMPERIAL TROLLEY?! What Outer Rim backwater are you from? Have you ever seen a trolley that wasn’t scummy? THEY DON’T EXIST! It’s obviously a Scum trolley!
The trolley problem is easy. The lone worker has the education to be in track areas, knows about the relation of needed evacuation time+accident-margin from track area to the speed of the approaching vehicle. (S)he also is trained to recognise rail-vehicle sound early.
And, in many countries you are not allowed to work without a train warning personnel, which does nothing else than just standing on the side and in time warn if any vehicles are on the horizon. If our worker neglected all the basic security measures, then so be it....
As for the turret slots on the trolley, you know there are title cards?

And as for the handcart meta, let us have a look at FFG upcoming new expac:
