From time to time my group will run one shots, but due to my group note quite getting the character creation rules, I attempted to make them a guide and thought I'd share it.

Tried to keep it basic-ish, more Edge of the Empire focused, but have got AoR and F&D Careers/Specialisations and opted to not include the expanded Specialisations to try and keep it shorter.

Would be open to feedback or suggestions

* Have made some edits, mainly trying to align spelling back up (I'm an Aussie haha!) Fixed alignment of the AoR and F&D Careers so the bottom row wasn't cut off and fixed the Zabrak up. I'll do a sanity check of the other species (have added in their book references also)

Further edit: in my excitement to upload, also realised I forgot to credit the L Master List for the species side of things. If you've not checked that doc out - do it now! It's saved my hide more than once!

This is awesome beyond words. With so many books out, all contributing in part to character creation, a consolidated piece like this has been needed for a long time. Thank you so much!

I apologize if I'm wromg, but is the Career skills number for FnD correct? I know there are 6 career skills, but I thought you pick 3, not 4. Currently afb.

I would always advise to use CSG stats.

Ah you're right! I'm used to Edge rules and borrowed my mates F&D book just to skim the skills, totally missed they pick 3. I shall touch that up

Just an fyi. Looks like the last row of the age and f&d starting specs table is missing. Spy and warrior both have 3 starting specs but only two are showing

I know this is minor, but you should keep the naming consistent with the book, you have most US/UK words spelled in the UK variant armour instead of armor for example , since the books and most of rest of the world follow this convention it might be more user friendly to follow that. Most people in the UK realise the simplified spellings of the word, might not be the same the other way round (although I doubt it), but for consistency sake I try and follow the book spellings Armorer (or Admirer as my autocorrect likes it) instead of Armourer

I would also recommend 2 additions. First, can you add the specializations from the career books? And on the races, can you add a book and page reference for them? My biggest problem with species is finding where they were printed.

Overall though, this is an awesome addition to the community. Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

Recheck the species. I know Zabrak no longer gain a boost on Perception (they get Advantage on Coercion instead). Some of the others are suspect too.

Thanks for the feedback, started putting through some of those fixes. Mainly opted to not included expanded specialisations to try and cut down for space, but might eventually go through and add them in.

I was using your sheet earlier and found it helpful. Let me return the favor with these bits of "errata" for you:

• Human should be clarified to say gain 1 rank each in any two non-Career skills.
• Mirialan should gain 1 rank in Cool and 1 rank in Discipline.
• Trandoshan needs to have Claws added, and Regeneration applies only to natural healing and Bacta tank use; it does not help with healing from first aid or stimpack use.
• Twi'lek should gain 1 rank in Charm or 1 rank in Deception (not Discipline).

Could not disagree more. The correct spelling of the word armour is armour. The only country that misspells it is the USA and we should not how down to their war on spelling.

heh heh heh I spotted something familiar in this =D got my species list in there although it looks like you are using the last version, check out the new version of my master list for more species from Unlimited power and Knights of Fate.

This may be the case, and being from the UK I sympathise with you , however when quoting specializations (or is that specialisations) from their book Ill use the spelling that was in the book that I am quoting from regardless of my own preference or opinion on how it is or how it should be spelt .

example everyone with the book can refer to the spelling used in the book , and regardless of who is reading it we all have the book as a common reference so it makes sense to follow that books spelling convention as a common ground.

Your argument smacks of the same thing I hear often about pronunciation , which ultimately when you get down to it is personal preference , even when looking at how a word ahould be pronounced the pronounciation ultimately falls back to someone's personal preference, which could have been swayed by local dialect (perhaps the strongest example of which is the convention of using an instead of 'a' before hotel, which sounds so wrong in most regional dialects except a certain London dialect which pronounces it with a dropped "h" as an 'otel)

THANK YOU, that species list is from my master list and I hate having errors in my lists and I am ashamed that these errors even existed so I have confirmed and corrected these...so thank you very much for pointing these out, and the corrections will be in the next release now the question is... am i going crazy? where the **** did i get that perception boost from? or was that a change to the FaD core rule book or was the zabrak somewhere else? (slowly descending into madness)

Zabrak had a Perception boost in the FaD Beta. It was changed to an Advantage on Coercion in the FaD Core.

ha, its ok, im just glad its getting used and people are enjoying my thing, but i am thankful to you for using it as well, those mistakes happydaze pointed out make it totally worth it to me, not to mention that your guide will help a ton of people =D
